The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has successfully conducted the Institute of National Importance Combined Entrance Test or INI CET 2021 yesterday. The test was held across 126 cities all over the country. Candidates after qualifying for the entrance test will be eligible to seek admission to the 6-years MD, MS, DM, MCh, and MDS courses. This examination was held for the January 2022 session. The total time allotted for the test was 3 hours during which candidates had to answer a total of 200 questions.
As per the candidates’ feedback, the paper was perceived to be more difficult than the previous INI CET papers. There were very few repeated questions this time. The general perception of the experts was that the overall difficulty level of the paper was between moderate to tough. It was a lengthy paper as there were many lengthy questions. Towards the end of the examination, most candidates faced the problem of time management. Although there were repeated topics, they came with a twist.
However, the experts are of the opinion that the exam was of a typical INI CET level. Around 5 to 7 questions that were asked from Orthopedics turned out tough. Recalling questions, according to subject experts, became difficult as every candidate had a different take on the questions. As per sources, there were image-based questions. For instance, a certain question asked the flow rate of the cannula whose image was put up. It had four options like 66, 86, 96 and 106.
From the surgery portion, an image-based question was displayed which asked the type of drain that was put up for a patient who went mastectomy. The options were semi-open, semi-closed, open and closed. Likewise, from the Orthopedics section, a question was asked in which the candidates had to arrange the sequence of Thomas steps. The options provided were squaring of pelvis, overcorrection on normal side, flexion of hip and checking for lumbar lordosis.
It must be noted that these are simply the recall or memory-based questions and may not be the actual question as the INI CET 2022 examination was held in a CBT online mode. In case candidates are looking for these recall questions, then they can head straight to YouTube and type ‘INI CET recall questions’.
