India Post releases GDS recruitment 2019 application form for 5,476 vacancies

A total of 26,111 vacancies are being filled this year. 5,476 vacancies are open. Result of 10,066 are under process. Result for 10,569 vacancies have already been announced.

India Post, Ministry of Communications, has released application form for GDS recruitment 2019. There are a total of 5,476 vacancies distributed in three circles – 2,707 vacancies in Andhra Pradesh, 1,799 in Chhattisgarh, and 970 in Telangana. 

For this recruitment, India Post had started registration and fee payment on October 15. The registration process will end on November 14. And now, the application form is also available. To apply for India Post recruitment 2019, candidates have to register and also fill application form – first register, and then fill application form. 

So all those who have registered first, or they can do so now, can also fill the application form now. The last date to submit application form is November 21, 2019. It may please be noted that the last date to register and last date to apply are one week apart.

To register and apply, candidates who are interested in becoming Gramin Dak Sevak have to go to appost.in. There they will see links for registration, fee payment, and apply online. The apply online link leads to indiapostgdsonline.in/phase4/reference.aspx, where one has to submit personal details, upload documents, choose preferences and submit the form before the deadline. 

The application fee is Rs 100 for UR, OBC, EWS male candidates for each set of five options. On the other hand, there is no fee for female candidates, SC, ST, PWD.

India Post has published separate notifications for each of circles, which you can download from appost.in, under the live notifications section. The only difference in each citcle is the language required, and vacancies.

For Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, candidates should have passed class 10th with Telugu as one of the subjects. Those who wish to apply for Chhattisgarh should have passed class 10th with Hindi as one of the subjects.

The basis of selection will be marks obtained in class 10th, rounded off upto 4 decimal points. No extra weightage will be given to higher education.

India Post conducts recruitment in cycles. In every recruitment cycle, a job seeker can apply for a maximum of 20 posts. These two posts can be in one circle or several circles. 

If a candidate is selected then he or she gets SMS about it. After that, those candidates have to go for document verification. Only after all formalities are done, a candidate is finally selected. Until result is announced, application status for India Post recruitment 2019 can be checked at appost.in. 

The results of following cycles are under process – Assam for 919 vacancies, Bihar with 1063 vacancies, Gujarat with 2510, Karnataka with 2637, Kerala with 2086 vacancies, and Punjab with 851 vacancies. Vacancies in five circles have been filled. This includes 174 in Delhi, 757 in Himachal Pradesh, 804 in Jharkhand, 4392 in Odisha, and 4442 in Tamilnadu. So overall this time, 26,111 vacancies are being filled by India Post.

India Post is basically the Department of Posts. It is a government operated postal system, under the Ministry of Communications. Established in 1854, India Post works for delivering post, remitting money by money orders, and also accepts deposits. There are 23 postal circles in India.
