IIT, Delhi is inviting online applications for the recruitment of Junior Technical Superintendent, Assistant Security Officer, Caretaker, Junior Superintendent (Publication), Senior Mechanic, Library Information Assistant, Senior Laboratory Assistant and Junior Assistant (Accounts). A notification for the same with Advt. No. E-II/01/2020 (DR) can be downloaded from iitd.ac.in. The conducting body has announced 45 vacancies for the said posts. Online application link activates from August 01, 2020 onwards. Eligible candidates can submit their online applications form before the last date, August 24, 2020.
Aspirants who are shortlisted under the announced posts get their salary as per the 7th CPC pay scale matrix. Junior Technical Superintendent, Assistant Security Officer, Caretaker, Junior Superintendent (Publication) gets Rs. 35400-112400/-. Candidates recruited under Junior Assistant (Accounts) posts, they get Rs. 21700-69100/- as monthly salary. Senior Mechanical, Library Information Assistant, Senior Laboratory Assistant receives Rs. 29200-92300/- per month.
Those who possess a Master or Bachelor or Diploma in respective disciplines are eligible to apply for any of the announced posts. More about the educational qualification and other eligibility norms are available in the official notification. For some of the posts, proficiency in computer applications such as M.S Word, Excel, Power-point or equivalent is required. Moreover, for Junior Assistant (Accounts) posts, candidates must have a typing speed of 40 WPM in English and 35 WPM in Hindi.
Candidates must comply with the age limit as suggested by IIT in the official notification. The age is calculated as on the last date of form submission which is August 24, 2020. The upper age limit for Junior Technical Superintendent, Assistant Security Officer, Caretaker, Junior Superintendent (Publication) is 35 years. Candidate’s age must not exceed that of 27 years for Junior Assistant (Accounts). The maximum age limit for Senior Mechanical, Library Information Assistant, Senior Laboratory Assistant is 30 years.
To apply for the announced posts, candidates have to visit the official website of IIT Delhi, ecampus.iitd.ac.in./IITDSR-0/login. Those who are employees of Govt./Semi-Govt./PSUs have to submit their forms through proper channel. Aspirants have to make a payment of Rs 200/- as the application fee. The fee can be paid through online procedure only, SC/ST/PWD/Women candidates are exempted from the fee submission.
To shortlist eligible candidates, Written Test/ Trade Test/ Computer Test is conducted. Aspirants have to secure minimum 60% marks to qualify the examination. Those who are able to qualify the written examination are invited for the Trade Test/ Computer Test. The appointment to the announced posts is on contractual basis. The contract is initially for a period of 03 years. However, this period may get extended up to 05 years on the basis of their performance.
