Candidates can apply for IIST Admission 2019 until June 05, 2019. The admission will be open for a total of 140 Undergraduate seats and will be based on JEE Advanced 2019 scores.
the admission will be open for 3 programmes that are 4-Year B.Tech in Aerospace Engineering, 4-Year B.Tech in Avionics and 5-Year Dual Degree (B.Tech and Master of Science/ M.Tech). There are 60 seats each in 4-Year B.Tech in Aerospace Engineering and 4-Year B.Tech in Avionics. whereas there are 20 seats in 5-Year Dual Degree (B.Tech and Master of Science/ M.Tech).
The announcement for admission in the UG programmes is made via a newspaper advertisement.
As per the official date available, last year the opening and closing percentage for B.Tech. (Aerospace Engineering) programme was 43.89% and 34.17% respectively for the general category.
For the B.Tech.(Electronics and Communication) programme the opening and closing percentage was 66.94% and 33.05% respectively in the general category.
For the Dual Degree (B.Tech. + Master of Science/Master of Technology) programme the opening and closing percentage was 52.78% and 36.39% respectively.
The 5-year Dual Degree programme leads to B.Tech. degree in Engineering Physics. And also, any of the 4 Post-Graduate degree specializations. The PG degree specialisations are (i) Master of Science (Astronomy & Astrophysics) (ii) Master of Technology (Earth System Science) (iii) Master of Science (Solid State Physics) (iv) Master of Technology (Optical Engineering). There is no exit option at the end of the 4th year.
The important thing to note is that all the IIST admission 2019 in the B.Tech programmes will be on the basis of JEE Advanced 2019 scores. No other mode of admission is available – neither any direct admission nor via any other entrance examination. Just the JEE Advanced exam is the gateway to IIST admission 2019.
