Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) has announced the result of International English Olympiad (IEO) 2019 today, at sofworld.org. Students of classes I to XII who appeared in the level 1 exam on any of the exam dates can now check their result online. Based on the IEO results, toppers of classes I and II will be awarded prizes, and qualifiers of level 1 of classes III to XII will be called for level 2.
To check IEO 2019 result, students need to go to results.sofworld.org/results, select olympiad name, then enter roll number in the format AN0006-11-D-005, then enter captcha code that appears on screen, and view result.
Class III to XII level 1 qualifiers of SOF IEO 2019 will get to appear in level 2. After that, the qualifiers of second round will include those who will be in the top 5% of students class wise, top 25 rank holders class wise and zone wise, and class toppers where at least 10 students from a class appear in the exam and score 50% qualifying marks.
SOF is spending Rs 18 crores for its olympids awards, scholarships, gifts, felicitations for 2019-2020 olympiads. For IEO, level 2 winners will be international and zonal topper awards, though for classes I, II, awards will be for level 1 winners.
At international level, 1st rank is eligible for Rs 50,000. Then 2nd rank will be getting Rs 25,000. And 3rd rank shall get Rs 10,000.
For zonal level, 1st rank gets Rs 5,000. 2nd rank gets Rs 2,500. 3rd rank gets Rs 1,000. Ranks 4th to 10th get gifts worth Rs 1,000. Medals, certificates are also given.
All IEO test takers get a student performance report (SPR) which is a detailed analysis of how well the student attempted the 1st level olympiad exam. It is intended to help the student and others related in his or her career related decision making processes understand the strengths and weaknesses of the student.
SPR consists data divided into sections A to F. Section A tells student’s marks as well as rank in school, city, zone, at international level. Then section B gives section wise performance score. Section C gives correct answers of questions asked in exam, answers by the student, performance comparison of answers by the student and that of students in the zone and international level. The section D shows percentage score analysis and comparison of the same with class, city, zone, international level. Thereafter section E gives comparison of average marks analysis at school, city, zone, international level. Last section, section F provides comparison of student’s performance in olympiad exams in past 9 years.
Schools also get awards. At international level, best principal award is for Rs 25,000, and best teacher award is for Rs 10,000. At zonal level, they are Rs 10,000 and Rs 5,000 respectively. Then at district level they are Rs 2,500 and Rs 1,000 respectively.
In the 2019-2020 session, SOF has previously conducted IGKO (International General Knowledge Olympiad) in September, and also announced its result. After IEO, the NSO (National Science Olympiad) recently concluded; it was held on November 11 and 21, 2019. Answer keys of NSO as well as its result is awaited.
The second level exams for IEO, NSO, IMO will be held for classes III to XII in the second and third Sunday of February 2020.
My son got international rank 2 last year, but no cash award was given, just a mtg gift voucher worth 1000 was given. A medal and certificate also was given. But the cash award of Rs 25k mentioned here is just to attract people. No such prize given actually.
