Indian Council of Medical Research-National Institute of Virology (ICMR-NIV) is inviting applications for recruitment to various posts advertised through Advt No. 01/NIV/Admn/Contract/2020-21 Dated 23.07.2020. As per the notice, 45 vacancies are available in all for various posts. There are 14 vacancies available for the post of Contract Technician. 06 vacancies are available for the post of Contract Technical Assistant. 10 vacancies are available for the post of Contract Technical Officer. 07 vacancies are available for the post of Contract Data Entry Operator while 07 vacancies are also available for the post of Contract Junior Clerk (Admin). 01 vacancies are available for the post of Contract Multi Tasking Staff (MTS). These vacancies are further distributed across the locations of Pune, Mumbai, Bangalore, and Kerala against each post. Shortlisted candidates are appointed against fixed monthly emoluments. Technicians are entitled to receive Rs 18000 while Technical Assistants are entitled to receive Rs 31000 per month. Technical Officers are entitled to receive Rs 32000 per month. DEOs are entitled to receive Rs 17000 per month while Junior Clerks are entitled to receive Rs 16000 per month. Multi-Tasking Staff are entitled to receive Rs 15800 per month. However, such candidates who apply must be within the maximum age of 30 years for the posts of Technician, Technical Assistant, and Technical Officer. The maximum age for the other posts is 25 years.
Eligible applicants are to be selected through personal interviews conducted through online mode such as Skype/video call. Local/regional candidates are preferred for the recruitment so that they are able to join immediately after selection. The shortlist of candidates selected for interview is displayed in due course of time on the website of the Institute. The final list of selected candidates is also displayed on the website after the completion of the interviews and the document verification stage.
In order to apply for the post of Technician, candidates must have passed class 12 in the Science stream and have a DMLT qualification. For Technical Assistant post, applicants must be a Life Science graduate along with three years of experience or Master’s degree in relevant subjects. Candidates having a graduate degree in Life Science and five years of experience or Post Graduate degree in relevant subjects are eligible to apply for the post of Technical Officer. Class 12 pass candidates with minimum typing speed of 15000 key depressions per hour on the computer are eligible to apply for the post of Data Entry Operator. Class 12 pass candidates who have a typing speed of 35 wpm in English or 30 wpm in Hindi or 10500 KDPH in English or 9000 KDPH in Hindi can apply for recruitment to the post of Junior Clerk. Candidates who have passed class 10 (SSC) are eligible to apply for the post of Multi Tasking Staff (MTS).
