Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) issued a public announcement on April 26, 2021, regarding the difficulties faced by students while filling the online application form. The announcement was posted on the official website icai.org as well as ICAI’s official Twitter account. The announcement acknowledged the problems faced by candidates due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the postponement of board exams. Thereafter, it specified the steps to be followed by such students to successfully register for the CA Foundation June 2021 examination.
ICAI is going to conduct the CA Foundation June 2021 examination on June 24, 26, 28 and 30, 2021. However, authorities are expected to announce their decision on the postponement of exams by the end of April 2021. Considering the existing schedule, the last date to submit the online application form is May 04, 2021.
During the form-filling process, candidates are facing difficulties on account of two reasons. The first reason being that due to COVID-19, candidates cannot get their application or declaration attested by a CA member, head of education institute or Gazetted officer. The second reason is that candidates cannot fill in their Senior Secondary Exam roll number or application number due to the postponement of board exams. This is again, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
ICAI acknowledged these issues and thus, made an announcement yesterday, April 26, 2021, on icai.org. Accordingly, students are permitted to upload their Aadhaar card and examination form for CA Foundation June 2021 for the time being. This instruction is for students whose photograph, signature or both are not recorded in the system. Once the situation stabilises, these students can send their duly signed and attested declaration to the institute.
Candidates who have not received their Admit card or Senior Secondary Exam roll no. have to declare that they shall be appearing for the examination. Once things go back to normalcy, students can send their admit card or exam roll no. to the institute.
All students who are facing the above-mentioned difficulties must send the prescribed documents to ICAI Bhawan, C-1, Sector-1, Noida – 201301. They may also choose to email the documents to [email protected]. However, they must quote their CA Foundation June 2021 registration number in the email.
According to the existing schedule, CA Foundation 2021 exam is scheduled in June 2021. A total of four papers shall be conducted on each day at allotted centres. Papers 1 and 2 are of 3 hours duration and shall be conducted from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Conversely, Papers 3 and 4 are of 2 hours duration and shall be held from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
No advance reading time shall be given for papers 3 and 4. However, an advance reading time of 15 minutes from 1:45 pm to 2:00 pm shall be given for all other papers.
