Indian Air Force is inviting applications from eligible candidates domiciled in the states of Bihar, Haryana and Rajasthan for recruitment to the post of Airmen Group X (Technical Trades) except Education Instructor trade through 01/2020 intake. Separate rally notifications regarding recruitment for each state is published by the Air Force at the official website airmenselection.cdac.in. The rally will be conducted from October 09 to 20, 2020 at Bihta, Patna (Bihar) and Ambala Cantonment (Haryana) and October 09 to 19, 2020 at Jodhpur (Rajasthan). Intending candidates must pre-register at the aforementioned website starting from 11.00 AM of September 27 to 05.00 PM of September 28, 2020.
The selection of eligible applicants will be done initially through the recruitment rally. The exact schedule of the rally at respective sites is available in the corresponding advertisement. Selected candidates will be trained and appointed to the post of Airmen Group X (Technical Trades) except for the trade of Education Instructor. Shortlisted applicants will be issued admit cards to appear in the recruitment rally as per schedule through the aforementioned website. Candidates must ensure that they fulfil the eligibility conditions before applying for the Air Force recruitment. Only those candidates who are born between the dates January 17, 2000, and December 30, 2003 (both dates inclusive) are eligible to apply. Candidates must have passed Class 12th exam with the subjects of Mathematics, Physics and English with minimum 50% in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
Candidates who have completed Diploma in Engineering in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Automobile, Computer Science, Instrumentation Technology or Information Technology from government-approved polytechnics are also eligible to apply. Such applicants must have secured 50% aggregate marks and 50% in English in diploma. In addition, candidates who are domiciled in the corresponding state are eligible to apply only. For instance, candidates domiciled in Bihar are eligible to apply for the rally in Bihar.
Applicants must ensure that they fulfil all other eligibility conditions regarding medical standards, body tattoo etc. before applying. A list of specified documents, including the rally, admit card must be carried to the rally sites. Adequate copies of recent passport-sized photograph for various purposes must also be carried.
Initial selection will be through the rally where candidates have to qualify through Physical Fitness Test. The PFT involves running 1.6 km in 6 minutes 30 seconds. In addition, one must complete 10 push-ups, 10 sit-ups and 20 quats to qualify the PFT. Qualifiers have to pass a written test consisting of an objective type paper based on 10+2 CBSE syllabus. The main topics include Physics, Mathematics and English and only 60 minutes are provided to complete the test.
Qualifiers of the written have to undertake Adaptability Test 1 & 2 and a Medical Test for final selection. The service duration will be for an initial period of 20 years subject to an extension until the candidate is 57 years old. Candidates have to complete Joint Basic Phase Training (JBPT) and trade training before joining. Qualifiers will be deployed as Airmen to the allotted trade.
