The Himachal Pradesh State Government has announced that all schools, colleges, and all other educational institutions will remain closed in the light of the rising COVID-19 cases. Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur announced the decision of closing down educational institutions in the state until mid-of the month. He also confirmed that the decision was taken by the state cabinet keeping in the mind the current COVID-19 situation in the country.
Earlier, the government decided to close all the educational institutions from March 27 to April 4, however, in the past few days the number of coronavirus cases has increased again. Hence, the closure has now been extended further till April 15. The three Himachal Pradesh districts bordering Punjab such as Una, Kangra, and Solan have been registering the maximum number of COVID-19 cases.
Now that the schools and colleges have been shut down, the classes will be conducted through online mediums only. Furthermore, all the educational institutes in Himachal Pradesh will reopen once the COVID-19 situation is reviewed.
With the schools and colleges closed, COVID-19 cases on the surge, there have many rumors that upcoming HP board exams 2021 shall be revised. Earlier, the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) released the revised date for class 10 and 12 board exams 2021. The revised date sheets have been released by the board at its official website, hpbose.org.
HPBOSE board examinations are all set to start from April 13 to 26, 2021. The exams are going to be held in two shifts- the morning shift from 8:45 am to 12 pm and the evening shift from 1:45 pm to 5 pm. But with the rise of coronavirus cases, there are rumors that the board shall postpone the board exams. However, so far no official confirmation has been made by the board officials. Hence, until any official announcement is made, students are advised to follow the original timetable and prepare for the upcoming examinations accordingly.
