The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) has released the Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GUJCET) 2021 date. As per the official notification released by GSHSEB, the examination is scheduled to be held on August 06, 2021. Candidates can visit the official website of GUJCET at gsebeservice.com and head straight to the ‘News Highlights’ to read the official notification. The application process for GUJCET 2021 is also ending today.
GUJCET 2021 is going to be a pen and paper mode exam. Candidates can choose any one language i.e English, Hindi and Gujarati, to answer the questions. Since Physics and Chemistry is a joint paper for GUJCET, students will get a duration of 120 minutes. However, Biology and Mathematics candidates will get 60 minutes for each section. Each paper will have 40 questions and a total of 120 questions comprising three papers. Questions asked in the exam are going to be multiple choice questions. For every correct answer, 1 mark will be awarded while every incorrect answer will lead to the deduction of 0.25 marks.
GUJCET is one of the few exams that will be conducted offline this year. Although there is no prescribed syllabus for GUJCET, candidates have to refer to the class 12 syllabus of NCERT. Students after qualifying for the exam will be called for a counselling round after which they will be eligible to seek admission into various governmental and non-governmental institutions of the state for B.Tech and Pharmacy courses.
Before starting off with their preparation, candidates are advised to thoroughly understand the exam pattern in order to strategize their plan. Additionally, they can also solve sample question papers that are available online. These sample papers are available in the same format as that of the entrance examination. Previous years’ question papers will also help students to understand the section weightage that they can expect in the examination.
Candidates must reach the examination centres 30 minutes prior to the commencement of the exam. Among all other things, Covid-19 protocols are to be strictly followed. Proper wearing of a face mask is mandatory in addition to social distancing. Note that candidates will only be allowed entry after producing the admit card.
