The dates for the major academic events have been postponed by at least two weeks. This decision was taken to ensure that students got enough time for preparation. The new and revised schedule can be checked from gsebservice.com.
The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB), through its latest notification, has revised the examination schedule for various exams. The schedules that were earlier released for preliminary, talent search test, board exams for classes 10 and 12 along with school exams for classes 9 and 11 have been revised. This decision to alter the GSEB board exam 2022 dates came in order to give the students sufficient time to complete their preparation.
In addition to that, the dates for summer vacation and commencement of the new session have been changed. Earlier, the new academic session was set to begin on June 06 but instead, it will now begin from June 13. Along with it, the summer vacation, which was earlier supposed to last from May 02 to June 05 will now continue from May 09 to June 12.
The prelim or second exam for classes 9 to 12 was earlier supposed to be held from January 27. However, now, the same will take place from February 10 to February 18. Similarly, board exams for classes 10 and 12 will now be held from March 28 to April 12. For classes 9 and 11, the school exams will be held from April 21 to April 30. Roughly, the dates have been pushed by nearly two weeks. On Wednesday, the state government declared that this decision was taken to ensure that the students get ample time for preparation. It is expected that nearly 32 lakh students will now get benefitted from this postponement in dates. A particular school principal also said that this decision is likely to have been taken in light of the rising COVID-19 cases.
