Goa Board Postpones Class 12 Exams Due to Demise of CM Manohar Parrikar

On March 17, 2019, the Government of Goa General Administration Secretariat, Porvorim has released a notice regarding the postpone of class 12 exams. As per the notice, all the state government offices, local/ autonomous bodies, public sector undertakings, and all the educational organizations will be closed on March 18, 2019. The postpone has been done due to the demise of the Goa Chief Minister Mr. Manohar Parikkar. So, the GBSHSE has delayed the exams of the Higher Secondary School Certification Examination.

The exams which were scheduled on March 18, 2019, have been revised. Now, the exams of Banking/ Logic/ Computer Science/ Co-Operation and Co-Operation (CWSN) will be held on March 27, 2019. The rest of the date sheet is the same. There are no changes in the exam timing also. The candidates will be able to appear for the exams from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for Co-Operation (CWSN) while for the rest of the subjects, the timing is 10.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.

The government has instructed for a 7 day period of the state mourning from March 18 to 24, 2019. During this time period, the National Flag will fly half mast on all the buildings in the state.

After March 18, 2019, the next exam of class 12 students is on March 19, 2019. The names of the subjects are English Langauge II/ Konkani Language II/ Urdu Language II/ Sanskrit Language II and Painting. The timings are 10.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon respectively.

The last date of the exams is March 27, 2019. Initially, it was March 26, 2019. The subjects for which the exams were scheduled on the same date are Marathi Language II/ French Langauge II and Marathi Language II. The students will be able to appear for the exams from 10.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and from 10.00 a.m. to 01.00 p.m respectively.

For the Secondary School Certificate (SSC), the exams are going to begin on April 02, 2019. The first exam is for English/ Marathi/ Urdu/ English (CWN)/ Marathi (CWN). The exams are ending on April 23, 2019. The students will appear for the last exam for the subjects Basic Cookery.

The timings are different for the various subject. For some it is 9:30 am to 11:30 am, 9:30 am to 12:00 noon and for some, it is 9:30 am to 12:30 pm.
