The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur is all set to announce the results of the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2022. As per the official website, the actual date for the declaration of results is tomorrow, i.e. March 17, 2022. However, taking cues from the previous year trends, it seems likely that the results can be declared well in advance, i.e. by today. The official website also mentions that the scorecards will be available for download from March 21 onwards but despite that, there are still chances for the same to be released soon.
Past year trends
An analysis of the past years’ trends shows that there are high chances for the results to be declared prior to the scheduled date. Hence, candidates are advised to keep an eye on the official website – gate.iitkgp.ac.in for all updates. For some reference, the past five years result declaration trends have been tabulated below.

These trends also show that the time at which the results are declared is mostly around afternoon or latest by evening. However, predicting an exact time could be difficult so it can be safe to assume that the GATE 2022 result can be expected to be available after 12 Noon.
GATE 2022 Scorecard
Previously, the scorecards have been released a few days after the results were declared. This year, the timeline given for downloading the scorecards is from March 21 to 31, 2022. These scorecards will only be issued to qualified candidates. It must be noted that the GATE 2022 score is going to remain valid for a period of three years.
Once the scorecards are made available, candidates are advised to download the same and retain a soft copy for future reference. In case a candidate requires the scorecard after March 31, 2022; then they have to pay Rs 500 for obtaining the same. Also, note that no scorecard will be issued by IIT Kharagpur from January 01, 2023, onwards. There is no provision for the issuance of hard copies of the scorecards.
