The correction facility to make changes in the GATE 2022 application form will end today. Previously, the last date to make changes in the application was November 12. However, it was extended till November 15. Candidates who want to make changes in their application form must do it at the earliest on the official GATE 2022 website – gate.iitkgp.ac.in. In addition to this, the last date to rectify applications that are found defective during the scrutiny process is November 18.
It must be noted that today is the last date to make changes in the category, paper and examination city. For this, candidates will have to incur additional charges. However, for rectifying applications that are found defective during scrutiny by the officials, candidates will not have to deposit any fees. They only have pay to additional fees if they want to make changes out of their will. The last date for making rectifications against srutiny defects is November 18, 2021.
Candidates can follow these steps to make changes using the correction facility.
Step 1- Visit the official GATE 2022 website – gate.iitkgp.ac.in
Step 2- Enter enrolment ID or email address, password and the displayed captcha
Step 3- Click on the ‘Submit’ button and press the ‘Edit’ button
Step 4- Make relevant changes in the form and proceed to the payment window
Step 5- Lastly, pay the required fees.
It must be noted that using the correction window, one can only change certain specific fields such as name, date of birth, gender, category, PwD, dyslexia, address, college details, exam paper, additional exam paper, and exam city. Also, as examination cities like Sonepat, Panipat, and Idukki have been canceled, candidates who have earlier opted for these cities should change the city choice without any additional fee.
Now, as per the official website, candidates are advised to rectify the scrutiny defects and errors in the application at the earliest. Ideally, candidates should rectify the scrutiny defects within two days from receiving the email or SMS. However, in case of clarifications regarding the same, one can contact the GATE office in the applicable zones.
GATE 2022 will be held on February 04, 05, 11, 12, and 13, 2022. The admit cards for the aptitude test will be available on January 03, 2022. The test will take place in the online mode for 03 hours. Candidates will have to answer MCQs (Multiple Choice Questions) as well as NAT (Numerical Answer Type). The test is essential for candidates who want to seek admission in the IITs for M. Sc. and M. Tech courses.
