The State Common Entrance Test Cell has published a notification in which it pointed out that the State CELL conducts all CETs in online mode except for MHT CET. However, now it has been proposed to conduct the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT CET) also in online mode.
A Proposed Online Examination of MHT CET 2019-20 Feedback Form for Aspirants has been started at the official website of the State Cell at mahacet.org. The students or anyone can give their feedback by entering their Personal Information and answering a few questions on whether MHT CET should be held in Online mode or not.
The exam conducting body has also published the Syllabus and marking scheme for the MHT CET 2019. As per the notification, the syllabus for MHT CET 2019 will be based on the syllabus of Maharashtra State Board and Higher Secondary Education. Approx, 20% weightage will be given to the Class 11th and 80% weightage will be given to the Class 12th curriculum.
The MHT CET will consist of Multiple choice (MCQ) type questions, in which they will get four options, out of which they will have to select the correct option. There will be 03 question papers namely- Paper I, Paper II, and Paper III for MHT CET and each paper will be of 100 marks. Paper I will consist of questions from the subject Mathematics, while Paper II will consist of question from Physics and Chemistry, and Paper III will have questions from Biology (Botany and Zoology). Also, it has been stated that the difficulty level of the question will be at par with JEE Main for Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry and the difficulty level of Biology will be at par with NEET.
The Approximate number of MCQ type questions in the Mathematics subject is 10 from Class 11th curriculum and 40 from the Class 12th curriculum. Each question carries 02 marks and Paper I will be of total 100 marks.
Paper II will have approximately 10 MCQ type question from Class 11th and 40 questions from Class 12th. Each question carried 01 marks each. The test will be of 90 minutes duration and will carry a total 100 marks. Paper III shall have 10 MCQ questions from Class 11th syllabus and 40 number of questions from Class 12th syllabus. Each question carries 01 marks and this paper will be of 100 marks.
Now, as far as the marking scheme is concerned, the exam conducting body has specified that there will no negative marking for an incorrect answer.
The Maharashtra Common Entrance Test or as it is popularly known as MHT CET is a state level entrance exam conducted by the Government of Maharashtra. It is conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education. This state level entrance exam is held every year to offer admission to candidates in Engineering and Allied Health Sciences courses. The MHT CET 2019 shall be held in the month of May 2019. Candidates can fill the MHT CET Application form 2019 online from March 2019 at dtemahrashtra.gov.in.
