The District Rural Development Agency, Gajapati, is inviting offline applications from eligible candidates for recruitment into the post of Gram Rozgar Sevak (GRS) in various Gram Panchayats of Gajapati District under MGNREGA. A total of 74 vacancies are announced through the official notification released at the website gajapati.nic.in. The last date of receipt of the ink signed applications in the prescribed proforma is July 22, 2020. The selection of eligible candidates of the Gajapati district is done on the basis of the marks obtained in the 10+2 standard. The marks of the compulsory subjects of the 10+2 exam are considered and the marks of the optional fourth subject is not considered.
The 74 vacant positions advertised are bifurcated in the categories of Unreserved (45), Scheduled Tribe (07), and Scheduled Caste (22). Candidates within the age range of 18 to 40 years and have passed the examination of the 10+2 standard are eligible to apply for the recruitment. An additional eligibility condition is that candidates must be Computer Proficient of the “O” level and having proficiency in the use of Odia language in Computer Operations. Candidates having a Computer Proficiency qualification above the “O” level, i.e. PGDCA, BCA, MCA, M.Sc. (Computer Science) are also eligible to apply. However, those having PGDCA must have obtained the certificate after the completion of graduation to be eligible to apply. In addition, all candidates must have Odia as MIL up to Class VII or must have passed Odia test conducted by the BSE, Odisha equivalent to ME standard.
Eligible candidates must download the prescribed application proforma from the website gajapati.nic.in, fill up all the relevant details and sign the form before sending it to the authorities. The application form must be sent in an envelope superscribed with the words “Application for the post of Gram Rozgar Sevak” with relevant documents enclosed. Candidates must enclose attested copies of documents and testimonials including Class 10 certificate showing age proof, mark sheet, 10+2 certificate & mark sheet, Computer Qualification Certificate, caste certificate, one self-addressed envelope, 02 recent passport-sized photographs and PWD certificate (wherever relevant). The completely filled up and under-signed application form and the list of documents must be sent to the Project Director, DRDA, Gajapati, At/Po, Paralakhemundi, District Gajapati, Pin: 761200 by Registered/Speed Post only. Applications submitted through any other modes are not accepted.
Once the application process is over, candidates are shortlisted as per the marks obtained in the 10+2 standard. If in case two or more candidates have the same marks (without the optional subject), the older candidate is placed at a higher rank in the merit list. Of the age of such candidates also happens to be the same, then the candidate who has passed the qualifying exam earlier is placed at a higher rank in the merit list. Finally, shortlisted candidates are appointed contractually for a period of a year only. Such candidates are entitled to a fixed monthly remuneration of Rs 7000, subject to revision as per Government norms from time to time. The merit list remains valid for a period of one year from the date of publication. The future vacancies in the GRS posts are filled up from this merit list until the total number of selected candidates is appointed. Shortlisted candidates have to sign an agreement paper on Non-Judicial stamp paper with the Collector-cum-CEO, Zilla Parishad, Gajapati.
