Director of Medical Education, Assam is inviting applications for the recruitment of 150 Staff Nurses. The vacancies are advertised in the detailed recruitment notification published in this regard at the official website of the Director of Medical Education, Assam. The notification is available at the official website dme.assam.gov.in. Eligible and interested candidates can apply online at the website starting from August 08, 2020. The last date to apply online is August 17, 2020, till midnight. As per the official notification, the vacancies are under the establishment of the Superintendent, Assam Medical College Hospital, Dibrugarh. Reservations in the available number of vacancies are also indicated in the detailed advertisement. 61 vacancies are unreserved while 40 vacancies are reserved for OBC/MOBC candidates. 11 vacancies are reserved for SC candidates and 15 vacancies are reserved for STP candidates. 8 vacancies are reserved for STH candidates and 15 vacancies are reserved for EWS candidates. In addition, there are 6 horizontally reserved vacancies for PwD candidates. Selected candidates are entitled to receive remuneration at the pay scale of Rs 14000 to 60500 in addition to a Grade Pay of Rs 6800.
Interested candidates must ensure that they meet the minimum eligibility conditions before applying for recruitment. In order to apply for the post of Staff Nurse, candidates must have a B.Sc. Nursing of GNM nursing qualification obtained from an institute recognized by the Indian Nursing Council and registered with the Assam Nurses. Midwives and Health Visitors Council. In addition, the applicants must be at least 18 years old and not more than 38 years of age in order to apply. The cut-off date of determining the age of the applicants is January 01, 2020. However, relaxations on the upper age limit are applicable for candidates belonging to special reserved categories as per government norms in vogue.

During the time of document verification of selected candidates, one must ensure that they carry specified documents in original as well as their photocopies. Candidates must produce admit card/birth certificate for proof of age, all mark sheet and pass certificates, registration certificate with nursing council, caste certificate, category certificate and domicile certificate of the state of Assam.
