The Directorate of Medical Education, Vijayawada is inviting online applications from eligible candidates for the post of Assistant Professors in Andhra Pradesh Medical Education Services. The official notification regarding the direct recruitment and lateral entry for Assistant Professor is available on dme.ap.nic.in. DME, Vijayawada had announced 442 vacancies for Assistant Professors by direct recruitment and 295 vacancies by lateral entry. The online application form will be available from June 19, 2020, to July 18, 2020.
In order to send the application, candidates must ensure that they fulfil their eligibility for the post. Those candidates who have studied from class 4th to class 10th in Andhra Pradesh are eligible to send their application. For Anatomy department, candidates must possess M.S. (Anatomy)/MD (Anatomy)/MBBS with M.Sc (Med.Anatomy)/M.Sc (Med. Anatomy) with D.Sc (Med. Anatomy)/M.Sc. (Medical Anatomy) with PhD (Medical Anatomy). Candidates who wish to apply for the Physiology department must have MD. (Physiology) MBBS with M.Sc (Physiology)/M.Sc (Med. Physiology) with D.Sc.(Medical Physiology)/M.Sc (Med. Physiology) with PhD (Medical Physiology). M.D. (Biochemistry)/M.Sc. (Med. Biochemistry) with Ph. D. (Med. Biochemistry)/MBBS with M.Sc. (Med. Biochemistry)/M.Sc. (Med. Biochemistry) with D.Sc. (Med. Biochemistry) is required to be eligible for the Biochemistry department.
Candidates must possess an MD. (Pharmacology)/M.Sc (Med. Pharmacology) with PhD (Med. Pharmacology)/MBBS with M.Sc. (Medical Pharmacology)/M.Sc (Med. Pharmacology ) with D.Sc (Med.Pharacology) for the Pharmacology department. For Microbiology department, candidates must possess M.D.(Microbiology)/M.D.(Bacteriology)/MBBS with M.Sc. (Med. Bacteriology)/M.Sc. (Med. Microbiology)/M.Sc.(Med. Bact.) with PhD (Med. Bacteriology)/M.Sc. (Med. Microbiology) with Ph. D.(Med. Microbiology)/M.Sc.(Med. Bacteriology) with D.Sc.(Med. Bacteriology)/M.Sc.(Med. Microbiology) with D. Sc. (Med. Microbiology). For the post of Assitant Professor, candidates must have M.D.(Pathology) / Ph.D(Pathology)/D.Sc.(Pathology) and for all others, MD / MS/ MDS / DM / M.Ch / DNB.
Candidates willing to apply should not exceed the age limit of 42 years as on June 01, 2020. However, the age limit is relaxable for reserved category. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/BC class are provided with age relaxation of 05 years making the age limit 47 years. Ex-servicemen applicants should not have completed 50 years as on June 01, 2020.
The application forms releases on the official website which is dme.ap.nic.in. After the registration process is over, an application ID is generated. Use the application ID to login and pay the application fee. DME, AP recruitment application fee can be submitted through SB Collect only. Candidates have to pay same application fee both Direct Recruitment and Lateral Entry which is Rs.1500/- for OC/BC and Rs.1000/- for SC/ST. Enter the fee amount manually and upload the SBI Collect reference number after which the application form is submitted completely.
The conducting body has indicated some documents which candidates have to upload for the successful submission of the application form. Eligible candidates have to attach latest passport size photo, signature, 10th certificate, local candidates have to submit study certificate from class 4 to class 10, registration of PG/Super-specialty/DNB degree with AP Medical Council, marks sheet and copy of degree certificate of Post-graduation, latest integrated Caste Certificate, disability certificate, S.R. completion certificate, Aadhar Card, Service certificate wherever applicable, No objection certificate is applicable, Migrate certificate, Ex-serviceman certificate if applicable. Candidates who wish to apply for lateral entry have to submit a copy of appointment order for in service.
The selection of candidates is done through written exam and interview. Directorate of Medical Education, AP conducts written examination for 100 marks. The provisional merit list releases on the official website of DME along with the scores secured by them. After the final selection, candidates have to serve a probation period of 3 years with per month salary of Rs. 70,000/-. However, after the enforcement of 7th UGC Pay scales in the State, Rs.92,000/- will be applicable for the probation. Those who are appointed as the Assistant Professor are not allowed to private practice.
