District Health and Family Welfare Samiti accepting applications for the recruitment of 09 Medical and Paramedical staff. Office of the Chief Medical Officer of Health, Cooch Behar has published a detailed recruitment notification in this regard at the website coochbehar.nic.in. However, online applications can be submitted by eligible and interested candidates at the website wbhealth.gov.in. The application procedure has commenced on July 28, 2020. However, the last date of receipt of online applications is August 11, 2020, until 24.00 Hrs. In addition, print out of the application form must also reach the specified address along with copies of necessary documents on or before August 13, 2020, during office hours.
As per the detailed recruitment notification published online, there are 09 vacancies for various medical and paramedical posts. There is a single vacancy available for each of the posts of GNM (NRC), Medical Officer (TCU), GNM (ART Center), Full-Time Medical Officer (NUHM), Lab Technician (NUHM), Programme Officer (DMHP), and Clinical Psychologist/Psychologist (DMHP). On the other hand, 02 vacancies are available for the post of Part-Time Medical Officer (NUHM). The vacancies are for the posts of NHM & NUHM under the District Health and Family Welfare Samiti, Cooch Behar on a contract basis.
Candidates are advised to go through the official notification and ensure that they fulfil the post-specific minimum eligibility conditions before applying for the recruitment. Candidates within the age range of 21 to 40 years and having a GNM/B.Sc. Nursing degree are eligible to apply for the post of GNM (NRC) given that they are able to read, write and speak in Bengali and permanently domiciled in the district applied for. Candidates having a GNM qualification recognized by UNC and registered with WB Nursing Council can apply for the post of GNM (ART Center) provided that they have a year’s experience in dealing with HIV/AIDS cases, working knowledge of computer & internet and counselling experience. The maximum age of such applicants must be 62 years.
Candidates within the maximum age of 63 years having an MBBS degree recognized by MCI are eligible to apply for the post of Medical Officer (TCU). Those within the age of 64 years and having an MBBS degree with 1 year of internship and registered with the WB Medical Council are eligible to apply for the post of Full-Time Medical Officer (NUHM) & Part-Time Medical Officer (NUHM). 12th pass candidates (PCM/PCB) who have a Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology and knowledge of computer, internet and MS Officer are eligible to apply for the post of Lab Technician (NUHM). Such candidates must not be more than 40 years of age. Candidates who are qualified psychiatrists having an MBBS along with MD/DNB Psychiatry/DPM or equivalent Post Graduate qualification are eligible to apply for the post of Programme Officer (DMHP). Candidates within 40 years of age and having M.Phil in Clinical Psychology or MA/MSC in Psychology/Clinical Psychology along with 3 months of training in Clinical Psychology in NIMHANS, CIP, LGBRIMH-Tezpur are eligible to apply for the post of Clinical Psychologist.

In addition, the printed copy of the completely filled up application form along with self-attested copies of supporting documents and demand draft of application fee must be forwarded to the office of the CHOH & Secretary, Dist. Health & Family Welfare Samity, Cooch Behar, Lalbag, Debibari Road, Cooch Behar on or before the last date. Candidates have to pay an application fee of Rs 100/- for Unreserved and Rs 50/- for reserved categories.
