DGQA Recruiting Lower Division Clerk Under Sports Quota; Apply Now!

Directorate General of Quality Assurance is inviting meritorious table tennis players to fill up vacancies in Controllerate of Quality Assurance, Kolkata

The Directorate General of Quality Assurance is inviting offline applications for recruitment into the post of Lower Division Clerk under sports quota. 01 vacancy is available for the post of LDC in the Controllerate of Quality Assurance (CQA) (Small Arms) under the sportsman quota of Table Tennis. The official employment notification can be downloaded from the website of DGQA i.e. dgqadefence.gov.in. Eligible candidates are advised to apply for the recruitment without delay since the last date of receipt of applications is 21 days from the date of publication of the advertisement i.e. July 25, 2020.

A single vacancy of LDC is available in the aforementioned department, which is reserved for meritorious candidates in the sports event of Table Tennis. Candidates who have passed the examination of Class 12 and within the age of 18 to 27 years are eligible to apply for the recruitment. Provisions for relaxation on the upper age limit as per government norms is applicable for candidates belonging to special reserved categories only. Since the vacancy is for meritorious candidates in the Table Tennis sports field only, candidates must be a sports person who has represented the State or the Nation in a national or international event of Table Tennis. In addition, candidates who have represented their University in inter-university competitions in a Table Tennis event are also eligible to apply. Candidates who have represented State School teams in national events of Table Tennis conducted at the school level by AISGF can also apply. Candidates who have been awarded national awards in physical efficiency under National Physical Efficiency Drive are also eligible to apply.

Candidates will be appointed for an initial probation period of 02 years in the post of LDC in Group C Non-Gazetted, Ministerial category. The posting of candidates will be made at Senior Quality Assurance Establishment (Electronics), Hastings, Kolkata-700022. Appointed candidates will be placed at Level 2 as per the 7th CPC for a minimum pay of Rs 19,900. Eligible and aspiring candidates can apply on handwritten application forms as per the prescribed proforma. The proforma is available for download at the official website as mentioned before.

Candidates need to enclose self-attested copies of specified documents including educational qualification, Table Tennis participation, age, caste certificate, and proficiency in typing. In addition, 03 photographs of the size of 4.5 x 3.5 cm are required among which, one must be affixed on the application form, one with the proforma for admit card and another to be loosely enclosed. Affixed photographs must be signed and loose photographs must be signed at the back. The applications must be posted to the Controller, Controllerate of Quality Assurance (Small Arms), P.O. Ichapur Nawabganj, North 24 Parganas, Pin 743 144. The envelopes must be superscribed as Application for the Post of Lower Division Clerk (Sportsman Quota-Table Tennis) at SQAE(L). Hastings.

The selection of eligible candidates is to be done through field trials and written exam. Field trials are to be conducted by the CQA (SA), Ichapur. Those who qualify for the field trials are called for the written exams. The written exam will be based on an MCQ type question paper. The indicative syllabus of the exam consists of the subjects of General Intelligence, English, Quantitative Aptitude & General Awareness. Candidates will have the opportunity to answer a bilingual question paper set in English & Hindi. The total duration of the written test is 02 hours. Following the appointment of selected candidates, a skill test will be conducted before the end of the probation period. One must exhibit 35wpm of English typing speed, or 30wpm of Hindi typing speed on the computer to pass the skill/type tests. As per the official advertisement, no interviews will be held for the selection of candidates.
