Amid the rising demand for NEET PG 2022 postponement, students across the country are also wanting the UG counterpart to get rescheduled. As of now, the NEET UG 2022 exam is all set to be conducted on July 17, 2022. Online registration for this exam is underway, on the official website neet.nta.nic.in. However, students protesting on Twitter have provided 6 compelling reasons for NTA to consider postponing the exam.

# Inadequate NEET UG 2022 preparation time
Only recently, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) concluded the counselling session for NEET UG 2021. So, students preoccupied in the counselling round till the very end have just 2 months of preparation time left. Furthermore, the National Testing Agency (NTA) announced the exam date in March 2022. So, students barely had any time to plan their preparation strategy.
# Clash of dates with CUET 2022
The newly-introduced CUET 2022 exam is scheduled for the first and second week of July 2022. So, there is barely a week’s difference between the two national-level exams with a small possibility of them clashing.
# Hectic schedule for those giving JEE Main as well
A huge chunk of NEET aspirants also plans on giving the JEE Main 2022 examination. However, session 2 is scheduled from July 21 to 30, 2022 i.e., just 4 days after NEET 2022. This hectic schedule is bound to affect a candidate’s performance in both exams.
# Mop-Up round for NEET UG 2021 ended recently
The mop-up round was conducted after the completion of the NEET counselling session. This round is the last chance for students to seek admission to a medical course. The NEET UG 2021 mop-up round got over only recently and so, those deciding to give the 2022 session are left with only 2 months of preparation time.
# Delay in NEET UG 2021 counselling
Even before the mop-up round, the NEET UG 2021 counselling ended in March 2022. This delay in counselling is another factor hindering a candidate’s preparation and ability to write the exam.
# New academic session 2021-22 starting late
Finally, as per students, even if the COVID-19 pandemic is receding, there has been a severe delay in starting the previous academic year 2021-22. Against this delay, starting the 2022-23 session so early will create chaos in the education system. To avoid this chaos, the NEET UG 2022 session must be postponed.
