The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) has today, i.e. on September 06, 2021, released the first merit list (that includes the selection and waiting lists) for the Higher Secondary (HS) 1st year admission process 2021. Results for the same have been announced on AHSEC’s DARPAN portal – darpan.ahseconline.in. The candidates, who have registered for the 2021-22 admission process, can check their college allotment by logging in to the official website. According to some reports, the candidates, who have registered for the admission process, have also been notified via SMS on their mobile number.
After accessing the waiting/selection list, candidates will have time up to 11:00 pm on September 07, 2021, to shortlist and mark one institution to finalise their admission. Beyond this period, candidates will not be able to change their selected institution. Hence, after selecting the college, candidates have to take admission in the respective institute from September 08 to 12, 2021. The same timeline was confirmed by the state board in an official notice.
To check the selection/waiting list, candidates have to login to DARPAN’s official portal – darpan.ahseconline.in by clicking on the “Continue as Student” option. Thereafter, they must enter their 10-digit mobile number, date of birth and 4-digit pin to login. After logging in, the candidates have to complete the remaining formalities within the stipulated period.
During the AHSEC HS 2021 admission process, some students may not be able to select their preferred institutes. In that case, institutions must help these students in choosing their colleges through their login ID and credentials. They must complete all these admission steps latest by September 12, 2021. All institutions are expected to accept student applications on a daily basis using their institution login ID, which will ensure that the admission process is seamless.
AHSEC has also provided candidates the facility to change their preferred subjects at the time of confirming their admission. Here again, institutes will have to update the subject changes on the same day to avoid any discrepancies.
Apart from conducting the admission process seamlessly, institutions have also been give the responsibility to update the available number of seats after the completion of the admission process. By doing so, students, who are yet to receive admission in any college, will be able to opt for other institutions immediately.
Now, it is the individual student’s responsibility to mark their college and confirm their admission as soon as possible. AHSEC has provided only two days’ time to complete this step of the admission process. So, to avoid any possible error, candidates must login to the official portal and mark their college very carefully.
