COMEDK 2020 exam has been held today. After the exam of shift 1, candidates gave mixed reactions about the SOP and social distancing norms at the centres. On one hand, candidates of a few centres reported proper Standard operating procedure (SOP) at the centre. While on the other had, candidates strongly criticized the safety measures taken by the authorities.
On social media, students are claiming that the SOP failure in many centers of COMEDK 2020 is proof that a similar situation will be seen for JEE Main and NEET 2020.

On the other hand, candidates have also been reported as saying that not all the students have been equally fortunate while some centers followed the SOP successfully, others lacked miserably.

Some students claimed that the only problem they have faced is regarding the mask they were wearing. The closed exam hall with a ceiling fan above lead to a suffocating feeling.

Tweets saying “Jab 70000 nahi handle kar paa rahe toh 1100000 kaise hoga?” have been surfacing over social media platforms. Candidates have shared the situation of their centers via video and images on social media, using hashtags #SCposponeJEE_NEET, #PostponeJEEAndNEET , #StudentsLivesMatters and so on.

Students have been demanding the postponement of the COMEDK 2020 exam due to COVID-19 even after the admit card for the exam was released. A plea was even filed in the High Court of Karnataka to postpone the exam, which was rejected by the court. COMEDK 2020 has been already postponed multiple times due to lockdowns.
The consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka conducts COMEDK UGET 2020 for admission in BE courses in the participating institutes. Today the exam was held across 342 exam centers at 30 states in a CBT mode. Every year, approximately 70,000 students appear for COMEDK.
COMEDK will also organise a single window counselling process for the UGET qualified candidates. B.Arch admission counselling will be also held based on NATA / JEE Main B.Arch paper scores.
COMEDK is the “Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka” – is entrusted with the responsibility to organise testing procedures to determine the merit of aspiring students. It has been conducting annual COMEDK UGET for admission in UG courses in the member institutions and has also been organising single-window centralised counselling process over the last 15 years.
