Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK) has published notification for Under Graduate Entrance Test (UGET) today on 29 Nov 2018. COMEDK 2019 will be held on 12 May 2019 in computer based test mode. This engineering entrance exam is the gateway for admission to 150 engineering colleges in Karnataka under the Karnataka Unaided Private Engineering Colleges Association (KUPECA).
COMEDK shall conduct the exam on an all India basis by setting up exam centres in all major cities in India. Students from all over India are eligible to apply. COMEDK 2019 registration can be filled by eligible aspirants at comedk.org as per schedule.
Notification contains COMEDK 2019 exam date, eligibility criteria and exam mode. Candidates who wish to get admission in any of the private engineering colleges in Karnataka that come under the ambit of KUPECA / COMEDK should apply for COMEDK 2019 and appear in its exam. Appearing in exam is the only criteria to get a rank. Admission to all available seats will be on basis of rank obtained in exam held on second Sunday in month of May 2019, subject to fulfillment of eligibility criteria. Admission is on merit cum preference basis only. There will be a centralized counselling for all colleges that are a part of the Consortium.

Such students are eligible to apply for COMEDK UGET 2019, who have passed relevant qualifying exam that is second PUC or 10+2 Higher Secondary or equivalent examination. Their last 2 years of studies should have included Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with English as a compulsory subject.
Further, in order to be eligible, general category candidates should have at least 45% aggregate marks (40% for SC / ST / OBC of Karnataka) in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and have individually passed the subjects. Compulsory subjects are Physics, Mathematics. Chemistry or Bio-Technology or Biology or Electronics or Computer are optional subjects.
However, Diploma students are ineligible since there are no lateral entry admissions.
Architecture aspirants should have passed 2nd PUC or class 12 with Mathematics as one of the subjects along with other subjects, or have passed 10+3 Diploma and have at least 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC / ST / OBC of Karnataka).
In order to study architecture at graduation level, candidates should have cleared NATA 2019 which is conducted by COA or JEE Main 2019 Paper 2 which is conducted by NTA. To qualify in NATA exam, candidates must get least cut off in 2 individual components and also get qualifying marks in overall.
There is no separate entrance exam for architecture aspirants. They need to submit separate application to take part in counselling.
In Karnataka, Karnataka CET and COMEDK are two major engineering entrance exams. While KEA conducts Karnataka CET 2019 for government colleges, COMEDK is for private colleges. Students can also apply for Manipal University Admission 2019. Manipal Academy of Higher Education was accorded the status of Institute of Eminence this year by MHRD.
