CMAT 2022 Exam Preparation

National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to conduct the CMAT 2022 examination on February 22, 2022, as per several news reports. The Central Management Admission Test (CMAT) 2022 exam will be held at selected centres across the country through the computer-based format. If this date holds true, candidates have a good 3 months of preparation time to ace the management test. Here’s a preparation plan to help them ace the exam.

CMAT 2022 3-months’ preparation plan

Month 1: The first 30 days are the most crucial in any preparation strategy. They form the base of a candidate’s understanding. So, it goes without saying that better the understanding, stronger is the base. And this invariably becomes the deciding factor in a candidate’s result. Hence, these 30 days must be dedicated to building a foundation and completing the basics. The focus must be on the difficult subjects. Candidates will not be able to study them separately at a later stage otherwise.

Month 2: After finishing the syllabus, candidates can now focus on segregating the syllabus into three parts – 1. Difficult sections or topics, 2. Medium-difficulty chapters or topics, and 3. Easy topics. The third section of topics must be revised within the first 5-10 days. the next 5-10 days must be dedicated to the medium-difficulty chapters. And finally, the remaining days should be utilised for difficult sections. the best way to revise the entire portion is by solving topic-specific or chapter-wise questions. Books containing such segregation of questions are easily available in the market.

Month 3: This month should solely be dedicated to solving the previous year’s question papers and mock exams in a time-bound manner. Additionally, students must continue to read a national English daily such as The Times of India or Hindustan Times every day. This is to get an edge over others in terms of the Language Comprehension and General Awareness sections. The best way to prepare for the three remaining sections is to solve mock tests every day. This will help candidates maintain their exam grid and practice till the exam day.

CMAT 2022 Exam pattern

The CMAT 2022 exam will be conducted through the computer-based format for a duration of 3 hours. Candidates will have to use this time wisely to attempt and solve a total of 125 questions. These questions will cover 5 subjects and a variety if topics within those subjects. For each correct answer, 4 marks will be awarded to a candidate. However, for every wrong answer, 1 mark will be deducted. 0 marks will be deducted for unanswered questions. Although the paper covers 5 subjects, merit position will be decided based on the best 4/5 sections.

CMAT 2022 Syllabus

Broadly speaking, the CMAT 2022 exam will cover a total of 5 sections. They are as follows –

  • Language Comprehension (25 Marks)
  • Quantitative Techniques and Data Interpretation (25 Marks)
  • Logical Reasoning (25 Marks)
  • General Awareness (25 Marks)
  • Innovation and Entrepreneurship (25 Marks)

CMAT 2022 Expected Exam Date Schedule

As per reports, the CMAT 2022 examination is all set to be conducted on February 22, 2022. Admit cards for the same will be released through the online mode on cmat.nta.nic.in on January 15, 2022. No hard copy will separately be sent to individual candidates.
