Earlier this month, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) came up with the decision to cancel the 10th Boards exam due to a surge in COVID-19 cases. CBSE has neither declared Class 10th Boards 2021 Results nor published criterion for the preparation of result. However, some schools have already started the registrations for Class 11th. Reportedly, a few schools will also commence new sessions from next month.

According to some reports available online, several schools across the country have started their registrations for Class 11th. Several CBSE schools have invited online registrations for the next session. Students will be enrolled on a provisional basis. They have to appear for an aptitude test based on which they will be shortlisted for the final round. Their final selection will be entirely based on the CBSE Boards Result 2021.

Times of India also interviewed an official of Delhi Public School on the registration procedure of Class 11th. “The Registration Procedure has received a good response,” said the official. He further added that the registration will end in June after which students have to appear for the Aptitude Test. Those who qualify Aptitude Test will be enrolled in Class 11th provisionally.

However, there are some schools as well that have not yet landed on the decision to continue with the idea of Class 11th admissions. They are waiting for CBSE to announce the structure of some criteria based on which the results will be out. T.P.M. Ibrahim Khan, president of the Kerala CBSE School Managements’ Associations has said in an interview with The Hindu that the classes for Class 11th will start only after the result.

Parents and students are apprehensive about whether or not to take admission for the next session. They allege that it is a ploy of schools to ask for fees from parents to ensure that students take admission in their schools. Some students are also seen not supporting the decision of starting the admissions early as CBSE has not yet disclosed the “objective criterion” that it was discussing earlier.

Some students who wish to take admission have to register themselves with the respective school’s website. In case, they wish to change schools, they can also contact the respective school in this regard. Moreover, after registration, candidates will be called for the aptitude test. However, some schools are enrolling students without prior tests. The selection will be based on Class 10th results.
