CISCE (Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination) is going to commence the ISC class 12th Term 1 board exams today, dated, November 22, 2021. The council had earlier released the revised timetable for both class 10th and 12th on their portal. In addition to that, exams for the Class 10th ICSE board shall be conducted from November 29, 2021.
The board is commencing the Term 1 exams for class 12th with English and the same is scheduled to commence from 2 pm. Earlier, there were a lot of speculations regarding the organisation of the examination online in the remote proctored mode. However, a decision was made after which it was decided to conduct the exams in the offline or paper-based mode. The admit cards for the candidates have been released online by competent authorities and the same must be carried to the exam hall.
As the exam is beginning today, candidates are advised to be alert and make sure that they abide by every single instruction mentioned on the admit card released by the board. Candidates are advised to reach the exam hall at least 30 minutes before the exam commences. The board will distribute the question paper at around 1.50 pm and candidates shall be provided 10 minutes time to read the question paper.
The authorities have issued strict guidelines regarding the basic SOPs and social distancing guidelines to be followed inside the school premises. The candidates are also warned of stern actions against those who are not found of following the basic norms.
Earlier, the board has decided to conduct the board exams online however owing to the numerous requests received by parents, students, authorities were forced to conduct the exam in offline mode. From this year onwards, the board exam shall be held twice a year as term exams. This decision was taken mainly to be ready in case another Covid-19 outbreak hampers the board exam.
Each term exam is going to be held with 50% weightage such that it can be considered for internal evaluation in case of an unprecedented situation. Also, from this session onwards, the Term exam for class 10th will be held for 80 marks and the maximum mark for the ISC exam is 70 marks. The board in a bid to help the candidates has also reduced the overall syllabus. This year, the examination shall be held only for 1.50 hours however project work and practicals shall also be held for all candidates.
