The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the date sheet of the Term II exam of 10th and 12th classes. The board had announced earlier that for the academic year 2021-2022 the examinations would be conducted in two parts, Term I and Term II examinations. The decision was made in light of the prevalent COVID-19 pandemic. Term I was conducted between November 16 and December 30, 2021. The Term II exam is scheduled to commence on April 26, 2022. For Class 12, the exam will end on June 15, 2022. For Class 10, on the other hand, the exam will conclude on May 24, 2022.

Furthermore, the board has also released a circular stating that the date sheet was prepared in consideration of all the factors concerning the students. For instance, the board took ample care in avoiding any clash with the JEE Main examination and also ensuring that there are no faulty subject combinations on a given exam date.
In addition, CBSE has provided longer gaps between two successive examinations to address the academic losses due to the COVID pandemic. The board has clarified that this will allow the students to have ample time to prepare for the exams.

The Term II examination will follow the same pattern as the Term I papers. It will be conducted for a duration of 2 hours for 40 marks. The paper will cover 50 percent of the entire syllabus. The exam will be a descriptive test that consists of short/long answer type questions and case-based questions. The students may refer to the same question papers released on the official website cbseacademic.nic.in for better understanding.
The theory-based board examination has a cumulative weightage of 80 marks. The remaining 20 marks have been allocated for internal assessments. The internal assessments for the 2021-2022 academic year will be based on Periodic tests (restricted to 3 in a year), multiple classroom assessments, portfolio, and student enrichment activities/project work/practical work. The students have to secure 33% in each subject to pass the exam.
