The wait is not yet over as the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has not announced the Class 10 and 12 Term 2 exam date. However, some schools have already released their date sheet for the pre-board examinations. Moreover, as per several news reports, the Term 2 exams are likely to be conducted during the March-April 2022 period. This leaves candidates with a month or so to prepare. Students across the country have been expressing their opinion on the popular microblogging portal twitter with a few individuals demanding the cancellation of Term 2 board exams.
Concerns of CBSE Students
As per the newly-introduced board exam system, CBSE has divided the syllabus into two terms – Term I and Term II. Furthermore, only 70% of the syllabus has been taught to Class 10 and 12 students. So essentially, both terms will cover only 35% of the actual syllabus.

The CBSE Term I 2021-22 board exams were conducted during the November-December 2021 period. Only a month has passed and already schools have announced the date sheet for preliminary board exams. These will be held in the month of February 2022, leaving candidates with very limited time to prepare the entire syllabus.

Additionally, Class 10 and 12 students have been left in the dark about two major aspects – 1. CBSE Term I 2021-22 result and 2. Term II Date Sheet. With both these unknowns in the basket, students are finding it difficult to prepare for the upcoming exams.
Speculations & Demands of Cancellation
Due to a delay in the release of the CBSE Term II 2021-22 date sheet, some students are speculating a postponement in second term exams. This implies that exams are likely to be conducted later instead of March-April 2022 period. The ongoing COVID-19 situation and rising cases in the country are adding fuel to these speculations. However, neither CBSE nor CISCE is showing any signs of postponement or cancellation of exams.

Another section of CBSE Class 10 and 12 students has been ardently demanding the cancellation of Term II exams. They are citing two reasons to support their demand – 1. Rising daily COVID-19 infections and 2. Limited time to prepare for the upcoming exams. Such students have been tweeting incessantly online under the hashtag #cbseterm2, #cancelboardexam2022 and #cancelcbseterm2.
As of now, the central education board has not provided any comment to accept or reject these speculations. If the CBSE Term II 2021-22 boards are to be conducted as planned then students can expect the date sheet to come out in the next few days.
