Today, December 11, 2021, was a crucial day for the CBSE Class 12 Humanities stream as the central education board conducted the Psychology Term 1 exam. The test was held at affiliated schools across the country for a duration of 90 minutes, from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm. Students had to attempt at least 50 questions out of 60 to score 35 marks. So, each question held a weightage of 0.70 marks.
Overall, according to subject experts, the paper was average and well-balanced. With the exception of Reasoning & Assertion questions which were confusing and lengthy.
CBSE Class 12 Psychology Term 1 Analysis
According to teachers and subject experts, the CBSE Class 12 Psychology 2021-22 paper was average, containing a good balance of questions, pertaining to the specified syllabus. While the paper was not easy, those who thoroughly studied the syllabus and solved the sample papers, would easily be scoring the perfect figure.
Students did encounter difficulty while solving 2-3 lengthy questions from the Reasoning and Assertion section. Not only were they lengthy but also the options mentioned were confusing and similar.
However, no question was asked outside of the specified syllabus. Hence, depending on the level of preparation, students were able to attempt and complete the entire paper.
While the teachers found the CBSE Class 12 Psychology Term 1 paper standard and well-balanced, students found today’s paper to be of moderate-to-hard in terms of the difficulty level. Even the case-based questions were of moderate level and hence, most students could sail through this section.
Maximum students encountered difficulty while solving the Reasoning & Assertion questions of the CBSE Class 12 Psychology Term 1 paper which is unsurprising. Most subject experts had predicted the board to provide confusing assertions for each Reasoning question. The aim essentially, was to test a student’s knowledge base and understanding of the subject. Hence, the assertions had minor changes to compel a student to think twice before marking their response.
Within just 60 minutes of the CBSE Class 12 Psychology Term 1 paper completion, several educators and teachers have uploaded their answer keys online. These educators have many years of experience and so, it is unlikely for the answers to have any errors in them. CBSE will not be announcing the Term I results any time soon. So, students are advised to calculate their marks using the answer keys available online.
