The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is presently conducting the Term 1 examinations for both classes 10 and 12. Examinations for the major subjects of class 12 have already commenced on December 01, 2021. The CBSE Class 12th Chemistry examination is scheduled for tomorrow, i.e. December 14, 2021. The exam will be conducted for a total of an hour and a half from 11:30 AM to 01:00 PM in various affiliated schools across the country. This year CBSE has scheduled two terms to cover the entire bifurcated syllabus. Each term consists of 50% of the revised syllabus. Students will be given a reading time of 20 minutes for all the upcoming term exams unlike the 15 minutes provided to previous years.
According to the specimen paper, tomorrow’s chemistry term 1 exam will cover a total of 55 questions out of which students need to solve a minimum of 45 questions to score the perfect score of 35 out of 35 marks. This implies that students will also receive internal choice in the question paper. This is in accordance with the newly-introduced CBSE Class 12 Chemistry 2021-22 exam pattern. In addition to this, students are also expected to study only 70% of the previous syllabus. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, CBSE had decided to reduce the Chemistry portion by 30%. This same syllabus has been imposed this year, as well.
The Central Board of Secondary Education has uploaded the Chemistry term 1 specimen question paper, corresponding marking scheme, and exam syllabus, on its academic website at cbseacademic.nic.in.
