The CBSE has announced the result for Class 10th online at its official website. The students can check their result online at cbseresults.nic.in by entering their Roll Number, School Number, Center Number as given on your admit card. A total of 16,38,428 students appeared for Class 10th board exam this year.
The pass percentage for Class 10 Result 2018 is 86.70 and has been decreased in comparison to last year, which was 90.95 percent.
Here are some of the important highlights of the Class 10th Board exam result 2018.
Pass percentage
The major difference in the pass percentage was already expected due to the change in the pass mark criteria for this batch. As per the revision, a student has to secure at least 33% marks in total (internal assessment and board exams taken together) in order to pass the exam. However, the expectation was that the pass percentage will increase, but seems a complete different scenario here.
Girls Vs Boys
This year, girls have performed better than boys. The pass percentage of girls is 88.67 percent, whereas, the pass percentage for boys is 85.32 percent. Girls have outshined boys by 3.35%.
Typing Errors, 2 marks given to each candidate
It was reported that there was a typing error in Class 10th English paper. Hence, the Board decided to give two marks to all those students who had appeared for the paper.
Easier Ways To Check Result
Unlike past few years, this year the candidates have a major advantage as they are given so many facilities to check their result. Two new result hosting options have been introduced this year, Google’s partnership with CBSE and Microsoft’s SMS Organizer App. The students can easily use these two options to check their result. It was expected that the CBSE Resutl to be hosted by Google shall remain live for a short period of time, however, it was live for more than 1 hour on May 26 for Class 12th result.
Top 03 regions
This year, the top 03 regions with excellent performance in Class 10th are Thiruvananthapuram with 99.60%, Chennai with 97.37% and Ajmer with 91.86%. Unfortunately, this year, Delhi could not make it to top 3. In Delhi region, about 286660 candidates appeared for the exam, out of which, 225361 passed the exam. The pass percentage in Delhi region is 78.62%.
Previous Year the top 10 regions were Delhi, Chennai, Guwahati, Ajmer, Panchkula, Allahabad, Patna, Bhubaneswar, Thiruvananthapuram, Dehradun.
Toppers of Class 10th Exam 2018
Four students have obtained 499 marks out of 500 and are All India Class 10th topper. The four toppers are, Prakhar Mittal from DPS Gurgaon, Rimzhim Agarwal from RP Public School Bijnor, Nandini Garg from Scottish International School, Shamli, Sreelakshmi G from Bhavan’s Vidyalaya, Cochin.
High Scores
The number of students who have scored 95% and above in CBSE class 10 results is 27476. The number of students who have scored 90% and above in the CBSE class 10 results is 131493.
Institution Wise Comparative Performance
This year, JNV schools have performed the best with a pass percentage of 97.31% followed by Kendriya Vidyalayas with 95.96% and private schools are third with 89.49%.
