Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) today, December 09, 2021, successfully conducted the Class 10 term I Hindi B exam. The test was held at affiliated schools across the country for a duration of 1 hour and 30 minutes i.e., from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm. Students were expected to mark the correct answers in the answer sheet. So essentially, the paper was objective in nature. Overall, according to students, the paper was, all in all, easy. However, certain sections were challenging and tested the better of the test-takers.
CBSE Class 10 Term 1 Hindi B Analysis
According to Class 10 students and teachers, the CBSE Class 10 term I Hindi B exam was in tandem with the syllabus specified by the board. Earlier, the central board had provided a detailed, term-wise curriculum. In this curriculum, the topics, types of questions, and weightage allotted were enlisted. This gave students a clear direction to study and prepare for each subject.
As per the CBSE Class 10 Curriculum 2021-22, the Hindi Course B paper would include multiple-choice questions (MCQs) based on passages from the textbook, unseen passages, and extract-based passages. All three kinds were present in today’s paper.
Students have expressed that the passage section in the Hindi B paper was extremely difficult and that some were not confident with the answers they have marked. They reported, “Options in the comprehension section were confusing. But the paper was easy overall.”
Additionally, CBSE had also released sample papers for each subject to help students understand the paper pattern better. So, those who referred to the Class 10 term I Hindi B sample paper would have spotted several similarities in today’s paper. This is a clear indication that while preparing for the term I exams, students must refer to the resources provided by CBSE. Teachers were also in full agreement with this and reiterated that most students would be able to score well in today’s exam.
This, however, is not to say that the paper was extremely easy. Students had to use their fast-reading and comprehending skills to answer the questions. So, those who thoroughly read the Class 10 NCERT Hindi Course B chapters were clearly at an advantage today.
Earlier, several students had the worry that the exam duration would not suffice to attempt and complete the entire paper. The time crunch has been a recurrent complaint in the past years. However, this year, due to an objective-based paper pattern, students were not stressed while appearing for the exam.
Usually, students are not concerned with the answer key for language-based papers. However, as today’s paper was entirely objective in nature, students are curious to know their exam score. CBSE will be releasing the official CBSE Class 10 term I Hindi B answer key soon, on the website cbse.nic.in. However, it will take a few days time. Till then, students can refer to several PDF-based or video-based answer keys uploaded online by several educators.
