CBSE Class 10 Social Science Sample Paper 2019

CBSE class 10 Social Science sample paper for the academic year 2018-19 is available. Board exams are going to commence in a few months. So, high time of preparation is going on. If you have prepared for CBSE class 10 social science subject then now go through the entire design of the paper. Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the social science sample paper on its official website- cbse.nic.in. These sample papers are designed in the same way as that of the main question paper for making the students familiar with the pattern of the examinations.

CBSE class 10 Social Science (code 087) is of total 80 marks. The question paper is divided into four sections A, B, C, and D. There are total 26 questions from Geography, History, Civics, and Economics. All the questions are compulsory to attempt. The marks distribution of social science question paper is done in the following way.

Section A is of total 7 marks. It consists of 1 to 7 questions of 1 mark each. These questions are very short type questions.
Section B is of total 33 marks. It consists of 8 to 18 questions of 3 marks each. Need to answer in maximum 80 words.
Section C is of total 35 marks. It consists of 19 to 25 questions of 5 marks each. Answer the questions in maximum 100 words.
Section D is of total 5 marks. It consists of Map-based questions of 5 marks. One question is from History of 2 marks and another question is from Geography of 3 marks.

There is no overall choice in the question paper. However, there is an internal choice in section A, B, and C.

CBSE has come up with the sample papers of all the subjects as per its curriculum on its official website. For class 10 students appearing in the board exam is their first experience. So, to make them more familiar with the pattern of the question paper CBSE releases the sample papers for class 10th and 12th students in the pdf format. Social Science is the subject which is entirely theory based. So, go through the paper and analyze which section consists what type of questions and of how many marks.

To pass the subject a student of class 10 from CBSE board needs to score overall 33% marks. For the year 2019 CBSE has come up with the number of changes. This includes the early release of CBSE exam date 2019 both for class 10th and 12th students. This year CBSE is going to conduct the exams for the vocational subjects first in the month of February followed by the core subjects in the month of March.
