The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will be conducting the English (Lang. & Lit.) examination on December 11, 2021. This will be the last examination for the major subjects. Students must note that the examination will take place from 11:30 AM to 01:00 AM, i.e. for a duration of 90 minutes. This time, every examinee will get a reading time of 20 minutes instead of 15 minutes.
Nonetheless, with less than two days left for the examination, students are now gearing up with their preparations. CBSE has already released the class 10 English sample paper on its academic website – cbseacademic.nic.in. To download the same, take a look at the following steps.
Step 1- Go to the academic website of CBSE at cbseacademic.nic.in
Step 2- Now, hover over the ‘Sample Question Paper’ menu and select ‘SQP 2021-2022’
Step 3- Click on ‘Class X’ and find the option for ‘English (Language & Literature)’
Step 4- After that, click on the ‘SQP’ button to download the sample question paper.

In addition to the sample paper released by the Board, students can also take a look at other practice papers and MCQ questions that are made available by educators and coaching institutes. Although sample papers are helpful to enhance one’s preparation, it is also important to give a final look at the syllabus. This will help in ensuring that the student has not missed out on anything from the syllabus. The revised syllabus is available on the academic website of CBSE – cbseacademic.nic.in. From the literature section, the chapters that are required from ‘First Flight’ are A Letter to God, Nelson Mandela, Two Stories about Flying, From the Diary of Anne Frank, The Hundred Dresses 1, and The Hundred Dresses 2. From poems, students will require Dust of Snow, Fire and Ice, A Tiger in the Zoo, and The Ball Poem. There will be three chapters from Footprints without Feet. These are A Triumph of Surgery, The Thief’s Story, and Footprints without Feet.
