The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is likely to release the Term 1 date sheet any time soon. According to a circular shared by the board to the schools, the Term 1 examination for classes 10 and 12 will begin from November 15, 2021 and end by December 15, 2021. As of now, it is expected that the date-wise schedule of the examination will be released on cbse.gov.in by this week.
The decision to split up the board examinations into two terms came after the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The CBSE Term 1 examinations will cover 50% of the syllabus while the examinations will be in an MCQ format in which the students will have to mark their answers in an OMR sheet. A duration of 90 minutes will be given to the students to mark their answers. As per reports, the time table for the Term 1 examination is likely to be released mid-October. The Board is likely to hold the examinations over 4 to 8 weeks which means that there will be gap between two subjects.
Coming to the mode of the Term 1 examinations, CBSE is keen on keeping offline examinations. Candidates may have to appear for the examinations from their respective schools. The question papers along with the OMR sheets will be provided by the Board. It must be noted that the mode of conducting the Term 1 examination has not been finalized yet. It all depends on how the COVID-19 situation takes the turn. Details regarding the answer keys and the evaluation process are likely to be made available by the Board once the date sheet is released. While CISCE Board has given the opportunity to choose the mode of examination to the students and guardians, CBSE is yet to arrive at a decision.
CBSE had asked for the list of candidates from every school. After the Board receives the list, it can take action regarding what to do next regarding the Term 1 examination. Meanwhile, there has also been no update regarding the practical examinations so far. But, as per reports, practical examinations for Term 1 are likely to be conducted by the respective schools. Students are advised to keep in touch with their schools regarding the modalities of the practical examinations.
