CAT 2018 Registration Started

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) conducts the Common Aptitude Test (CAT) every year. The registration for CAT 2018 has been started today by IIM Calcutta. The aspirants can apply for CAT exam by register online ta iimcat.ac.in. This year, CAT 2018 is scheduled to be held on November 25, 2018. The test taking agency for CAT 2018 is Tata Consultancy Services (TCS).

The aspirants from any stream and any age group can apply for CAT exam, however, they must hold a Bachelor’s degree from any recognized university. Those who are in the final year of their degree examination are also eligible to appear for CAT exam. The score for CAT is used for admission in management studies in multiple streams from top b-schools of India. This exam will be conducted in online mode across India.

To apply for the entrance test, the aspirants first need to register at the official website. On the homepage fo the website, click on the link for “CAT Registration“. Next, enter details such as your name, date of birth, email id and mobile number. Remeber that the candidates need to enter their own personal email id and mobile number and should maintain the same till the end of the admission process.

Once the registration part is done, the candidates need to fill in their personal details, educational qualification details, work experience information, choose the exam center, upload necessary images in the CAT Application Form 2018. The last step is to pay the requisite amount of the application fee and submit the form online.

As predicted, there has been a hike in the registration fee for CAT. There has been an increase in Rs. 50/- for SC/ST/PWD category, whereas, Rs. 100/- has been increased for all other categories. Hence, now the candidates need to pay an amount of Rs. 950/- for SC/ST/PWD category and Rs. 1900/- for all other categories. The payment of registration fee is to be done by online mode only.

There have been few changes introduced by IIM Calcutta, such as there are few exam centers added and few removed for CAT 2018. Then, there is a hike in the registration fee.

Only those who will complete the application process correctly will get the CAT 2018 Admit Card. The Admit card is a very important document and every candidate must carry it with themselves at the time of examination. If any candidate fails to bring the admit card or hall ticket at the time of examination then he/she will be prohibited to take the test. Admit card will also be available online on the official website. As the CAT 2018 will be conducted in the exam centers located in 140 cities all over India. The date, day, timings, and venue of the exam will be mentioned on the admit card.

The admission process is majorly dependent on the marks of CAT 2018. However, each b-school is independent to mandate their own eligibility criteria and can follow different selection process. Along with the CAT 2018 scores, they can also use previous percentages of education, work experience in a relevant field, or similar inputs to set an aggregate for the further selection process. As a result, students can check the respective official website of a particular institute.
