IIM Kozhikode has, as promised, released the CAT 2019 answer key with question papers and response sheets at iimcat.ac.in candidate login today. The organizing body of the Common Admission Test had earlier announced that they will do the announcement by November 30, 2019.
The latest message on CAT website reads “individual responses to questions with answer key tab is now active post candidate login”. Which basically means that there is no separate link for checking the answer keys, candidates need to, instead, login to the standard CAT 2019 login page and then go to response and question papers with answer key tab.
CAT 2019 login link is cdn.digialm.com/EForms/configuredHtml/756/62128/login.html. Although the message on the website became visible around 11 am indicating that the MBA entrance exam’s answer key with question paper and response sheet are available, until 12:55 pm the login page was not showing any login form, instead this message “the login to form will be available only between — hours minutes to 28-11-2019 23 hours 55 minutes” was appearing.
Now, the login is enabled. Candidates have confirmed that earlier everyone was seeing the same message, and now login is active. Now, candidates can login with user ID and password to get their papers with answers.
This time IIMs have released all three aspects of the exam that are question paper, answer key, responses at once. Last year the responses were disclosed in the morning, whereas answer keys were published in the evening.
In another first, the key release is happening way too early as compared to the past two years. Ever since the practice of displaying answer keys post exam started, two years ago, the event has been taking place around December 5-6. The 2019 CAT exam is seeing the event take place just five days post exam.
CAT 2019 was held as a computer based test in two shifts on November 24, 2019. Candidates and coaching centers concluded that the exam was moderately difficult, without any surprises at all, in the post exam analysis. Although predictions have been laid bare by all coaching centers individually, they vary from eachother; and MBA aspirants are aware that normalization and scaling processes are in fact quite unpredictable for the general public.
The exam had 34, 34, 32 questions from QA, VARC, DILR. There were multiple choice questions and numerical value type questions. While there is negative marking for MCQs, there is none for numerical answer questions.
CAT scores will be used not only by IIMs but several other B Schools throughout the country. Accepted far and wide, the CAT exam is critical for MBA aspirants in India.
Those who appeared in CAT 2019 can check their answers and response today and get an idea of their raw scores. Result will be announced with actual scores and percentile in the second week of January 2020.
