The Tamil Nadu School Education Department will, for the first time, hold board exams for class 5 and 8 students also. The TN public exam time table 2020 for these two classes are now out.

Students under school education department of Tamil Nadu in fifth standard, will have exams in the third and fourth weeks of April 2020.
Tamil paper will be on Wednesday, April 15, 2020.
English exam is scheduled for Friday, April 17, 2020.
Mathematics test shall be on Monday, April 20, 2020.
TN Class 8 Public Exam Time Table 2020
Whereas those three years older, in standard eighth, shall have papers from the last week of March to third week of April 2020.
The first paper will be Tamil, on Monday, March 30, 2020.
Then the second paper will be English on Thursday, April 2, 2020.
Third test is of Mathematics on Wednesday, April 8, 2020.
Fourth exam will be of Science on Wednesday, April 15, 2020.
Fifth and the last paper will be of Social Science on Friday, April 17, 2020.
For both the classes, maximum time for revision will be available for Mathematics subject, where class 5 students will get a two days gap, and class 8 students will get a five days time window.
Two dates, April 15 and 17, 2020 will be such on which papers will be held for both classes. Other dates are exclusive to either class.
As per reports, the exams will be held from 10 am to 12:15 pm. Students will get 15 minutes before the exam to read the question paper.
The government has decided that students will get three years training for board exams, and in that time, they will not be detained. As reported in media post the press conference held by the Tamil Nadu’s School Education Minister recently, although students will write the public exams, results of pass and fail students will not be released for three years. This move aims to give students ample time to be prepared in all aspects for the class 10 public exams, and thereafter for class 12.
As per the government order, schools are hereby prohibited, for sessions 2019-20 to 2021-22 batch, to detain students who fail in exams of class 5 and 8. After three academic years, 2022-23, students can be detained if they fail re-examination. Nuances of the prohibition to detention are detailed in the government order released on Friday.
