Bureau of India Standards is hiring Bachelors/ Masters degree holder for the vacant posts at BIS Headquarters.

Bureau of Indian Standards has released an official notification for the recruitment of Assistant Director, Assistant Section Officer, Personal Assistant, Junior Translator (Hindi), Library Assistant, Stenographer, Senior Secretariat Assistant and Junior Secretariat Assistant. As per the notification, a total of 171 vacancies are out for the said posts. Eligible candidates can submit the application from September 05, 2020, to September 26, 2020. Candidates can get the official notification with ADVERTISEMENT NO. 2/2020/ESTT from the official website, bis.gov.in.

The recruitment to these posts is by Direct recruitment process. Eligible individuals who qualify the selection procedure are posted at BIS Headquarters, New Delhi and BIS Offices located in the country.

Candidates intending to build their career with BIS have to ensure that they fulfil the eligibility criteria first. Those who have a Bachelors degree can apply for Assistant Director in the Administration department. To apply for Assistant Director Marketing and Consumer Affairs and Assistant Director Library must have a master’s degree in the concerned subject. Candidates who have a bachelors degree with computer proficiency are eligible for the post of Assistant Section Officer, Personal Assistant, Stenographer, Senior Secretariat Assistant and Junior Secretariat Assistant. A post-graduation degree in Hindi/ English is eligible for the post of Junior Translator (Hindi).

Moreover, BIS has also specified the upper age limit for all the announced posts. To apply for Assistant Director (all departments), the candidate’s age should not exceed that of 35 years. The upper age limit for Assistant Section Officer, Personal Assistant is 30 years, for the rest of the posts is 27 years.

Applicants fulfilling the eligibility criteria can proceed to submit the online applications form. They must visit the official website, bis.gov.in to get the online registration and application form link. Also, keep a scanned copy of photograph, signature and other relevant documents. While filing form, aspirants are also asked to submit the application fee through Debit Cards (RuPay/Visa/MasterCard/Maestro), Credit Cards, Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards/ Mobile Wallets. Those who are applying for Assistant Director (Administration & Finance), Assistant Director (Marketing & Consumer Affairs) and Assistant Director (Library) have t pay Rs. 800/- and for another post the fee is Rs. 500/-.

The selection procedure for these posts includes the online examination and interview/ shorthand test/ typing test/skill test. The scheme for the examination can be downloaded from the BIS website. The admit card for the written examination will be out by October 20, 2020. The online examination is scheduled to be held on November 08, 2020. Candidates who secure minimum 50% marks in the online examinations are called for further rounds of the selection procedure.
