Bihar Public Service Commission has advertised vacancies for the post of Head of the Department (Electrical Engineering) in Government Polytechnics and Women Government Polytechnics under the Department of Science & Technology, Government of Bihar. An official recruitment notice has been published in this regard at the website of BPSC i.e. bpsc.bih.nic.in. There are 36 vacancies altogether for the aforementioned post. Eligible and interested candidates are being invited to apply for the recruitment through the website of the Commission. The online registration window is opening on August 07, 2020, and closing on August 24, 2020. Candidates can submit application fees online till August 28, 2020. The last date of submission of the online application form after registration is September 04, 2020. The hard copy of the application form must reach the Commission’s office on or before September 11, 2020.
As per the recruitment notice, the 36 vacancies are bifurcated across various categories. There are 14 unreserved vacancies, 04 vacancies for EWS candidates, 06 vacancies for SC, 01 vacancies for ST, 06 vacancies for OBC, 04 vacancies for BC and 01 vacancy available for OBC (Female) candidates. Selected candidates are to be appointed at the Level 13 A1 for an entry level pay of Rs 1,31,400. However, candidates must at first ensure their eligibility before applying for the recruitment.
Candidates having a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering/Technology and a first-class Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering/Technology are eligible to apply for the recruitment. Additionally, those candidates who have a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering/Technology are also eligible to apply for the recruitment. Candidates must also have the specified minimum post qualification experience in order to apply. Minimum experience of 12 years in the Teaching/Research/Industry out of which a minimum of 2 years must be at the level of Lecturer (Selection Grade-I) after completion of Ph.D. is required. Those who have 15 years of experience with a minimum of 3 years at the level of Lecturer (Selection Grade-II) are also eligible to apply. The maximum age of the applicants cannot be more than 33 years as on August 01, 2020.
The selection of candidates is based on marks awarded on the basis of academic background, research performance, domain knowledge, teaching skill, and interview. The total weightage of marks allocated for selection is 100 out of which, the interview carries 20 marks in terms of weightage.
Eligible candidates who wish to apply must do so at the official website of BPSC before the last date. At first, the online registration process must be completed following which, candidates will be able to submit the application fee online. The application form can be filled up and submitted only after completing the registration and fee payment process. The application fee is Rs. 100 for Unreserved candidates while SC/ST, Female candidates of Bihar, and PWD candidates have to pay a fee of Rs 25 only. A hard copy of the application form enclosed with self-attested photocopies of specified documents must reach the Joint Secretary cum Exam Controller, BPSC, 15 Jawaharlal Nehru Marg, Patna 800001 by speed or registered post on or before the last date.
