Bihar Public Service Commission, Patna has extended the last date to apply for the 65th combined competitive examinations. Last date to register online is now July 29, 2019, whereas previously it was July 24, 2019.
Likewise deadline for paying fee has been changed from July 30, 2019, to August 5, 2019. Candidates must submit the filled form by August 11, 2019, for which earlier, the deadline was August 6, 2019.
BPSC 65th civil services exam notification was released earlier last month. All eligible and interested candidates can apply online at bpsc.bih.nic.in.
Graduates from any recognized board or university can apply for the BPSC civil services examination for the post of : Sub-divisional officer (30 seats), Deputy Superintendent of Police (62 seats), Rural development officer (110 seats), Block panchayat officer (14 seats), District Sanapark officer (11 seats), Bihar education service (72 seats), Labor enforcement officer (20 seats), Food and consumer inspector (19 seats), Election department (46 seats), SC/ST welfare department (18 seats) and other (21 seats).
Such candidates who belong to age group between 21 to 37 years old are eligible. OBC category candidates upto 40 years of age can apply, and candidates belonging to SC/ST upto 42 years are eligible.
To apply for BPSC civil service exam, a candidate has to fill the form at bpsc.bih.nic.in. Application fee to be paid is Rs 150 for women, general, SC, ST, handicapped candidates who are domicile of Bihar. The candidates who are not the residents of Bihar have to submit a fee of Rs 600. Finally, submit the application form. Then login with the same registration number and take a printout for safekeeping.
The preliminary examination will be held at various examination centers in Bihar. The BPSC 65 PT examination have 3 phases – preliminary exam, mains exam and interview.
Candidates qualifying in the preliminary examination will get a chance to sit in the main exam. The preliminary phase exam will contain objective type questions (MCQs). The duration of the exam is 3 hours, consisting of 3 papers : General Hindi for (100 marks) , General studies paper I and paper II for (300 marks each). The syllabus will cover form topics like general knowledge, national and international current affairs, General science, Geography of India, Indian economy and polity, etc.
The main exam will be of 900 marks which includes descriptive type theory and the third stage which is the interview will contain 120 marks.
About BPSC : The Bihar Public Service Commission is a constitutional body under Article 315 of the Indian Constitution.The BPSC came into existence in 1949 after its separation from the Orissa and Madhya Pradesh commissions. The BPSC headquarters at the time of its inception was located in Ranchi which was later shifted to Patna, the state capital.
