Board Exams 2021: April Roundup – Class 10, 12 Cancelled, Postponed, Scheduled, Ongoing Exams

Despite a rise in COVID cases, there are few state boards that still have not cancelled or postponed the exams yet. Check the complete list of scheduled, postponed or cancelled state board exams here.

Considering the deteriorating COVID -19 situation, CBSE, ISCE, and other state boards have either cancelled or postponed many Board Exams 2021, until further notice. Since, the class 10th, 12th exams have been pushed forward, the entrance examinations like NEET / JEE / CLAT / INICET have taken a seat back. The second wave of COVID-19 has certainly created havoc on the life and career of citizens, but students should keep an optimistic approach towards the future and pray for the betterment of the situation as soon as possible.

Here is the Roundup of the class 10th, 12th exams which are ongoing, cancelled or postponed.

Scheduled Board Examinations 2021

Jharkhand

Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) has postponed the class 10 and 12 practical exams which were set to begin on April 6. However, the board has not made any announcement regarding the theory exams that are scheduled to be held from May 4 to May 21.

Andhra Pradesh

Board of Intermediate Education (BIE AP) released the hall ticket for Inter 1st and 2nd year on April 29 which further confirmed that the Inter exams 2021 will be held as per the schedule. Speaking on the occasion, the state education minister Audimulapu Suresh revealed that they have no plans to postpone Class 10- 12 board exams. AP SSC exams will commence from June 7 to June 16, while the Class 12 exam will begin from May 5 to May 23.

West Bengal

The West Bengal Board of Secondary (WBBSE) officials have said that an appropriate decision will be taken by the government after reviewing the pandemic situation. WBBSE Madhyamik 2021 exams will start from June 1 to 10, whereas, class 12th exams will be held from June 15 to 30, 2021.

Meghalaya

The state board has announced that the class 10th, 12th exams will be held as per the schedule. MBOSE class 12th exams started on April 16 and will conclude on May 12. On the other hand, class 10th exams commenced on April 19 and will conclude on May 3.

Tripura

Tripura Board is going to conduct the class 10th, 12th board exams 2021 on the given dates. The board will conduct class 10th exams will be held from May 19 and class 12 exams from May 18 under strict adherence to COVID-19 protocols.

Sikkim

The state board will conduct the board exams as per the schedule amid the rising COVID cases. Class 10th exams will begin on May 19, and class 12th exams will commence on May 18.

An exception to this is the Assam Board which will declare a conclusive decision regarding class 10th and 12th board exams on May 3, 2021.

These state have cancelled/ postponed Board Exams 2021

The class 10th board examinations of CBSE board, Chhattisgarh, CISCE, Haryana, Maharashtra, Jammu and Kashmir, Odisha, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, and Uttarakhand have been canceled by all means. The students will be promoted to the next class i.e. in class 11th, on the basis of an objective criterion set by the boards. Candidates who are not satisfied with the objective basis evaluation can sit for the examination as and when it is held afterward.

On the other hand, no state has cancelled the class 12th examination for session 2021.

States including Goa, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Manipur, Rajasthan, Jharkhand have postponed the class 10th i.e. the matriculation examination as well.

Along with these states, CBSE, ISCE, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Odisha, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Telangana Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand have pushed forward the dates for the class 12th examination. This has been done considering the weightage of class 12th examination percentage for higher studies and entrance examinations etc.
