BMC Hall Ticket

Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), formerly the Bombay Municipal Corporation, has released hall tickets for the junior engineer exam scheduled to be held on November 25, 2019. Candidates who had applied for the exam can now download their admit cards from the official website.

On exam day, it is mandatory to carry a printout of the call letter, with recent passport size photograph duly pasted on it, a valid photo identity proof in original as well its copy, ball point pen. Invigilators will ask for call letter with photocopy of id proof stapled to it.

Ration card and learner’s driving license will not be accepted as ID proof.

The acceptable ID proofs will be aadhar card, bank passbook with photograph, bar council identity card with photograph, e-aadhar card with a photograph, employee id, pan card, passport, permanent driving licence, voter’s card, photo identity proof issued by a gazetted officer on official letterhead, photo identity proof issued by a people’s representative on official letterhead, valid recent identity card issued by a recognised college or university.

There will be an online computer based test on the scheduled date, at centers mentioned in candidate’s call letters. The exam will have questions broadly divided into three sections namely general knowledge, intellectual potential, and technical knowledge. These sections will respectively have 20, 20, and 60 questions of as many marks.

A composite time of 90 minutes will be provided to solve the paper. However candidates will be required to be at the venue for nearly twice the time, due to examination formalities.

As per timings provided in the BMC hall ticket, one needs to report to the center on time. There will be checking, call letter collection processes, and some time will be given to get seated at assigned computers.

In the exam, candidates will be allowed to attempt any question from 1 to 100 in any order. Each question will have five options, with one most appropriate answer. Whereas each correct answer will fetch 1 mark, incorrect answer will lead to deduction of ¼ mark.

For BMC recruitment of junior engineer, marks obtained in this exam will be normalized. Cutoffs will apply on the total score.

The corporation has, besides issuing hall tickets, provided information handout. That information handout contains sample questions for the exam as well.

BMC JE recruitment 2019 was notified last month, for 341 vacancies of junior engineer posts. Registrations were accepted from October 12 to 29, 2019. Printing of application form was allowed until recently, November 13, 2019.
