Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani is conducting BITS Admission Test 2018 from May 16 to 31, 2018. The examination will be held computer based mode, in 62 cities all over India.
Recently, on bitsadmission.com, the conducting body announced that Asia Pacific BITSAT Delhi Center has been shifted to OJAS Global Academy, Rohini. For the candidates affected by the shift, new admit cards were released. Now, BITS Pilani has released another notice, as per which change in BITSAT exam date, slot, and center is possible.
Usually, BITS does not allow any change in the centre or exam date. However, since last year, the institute has been providing the facility for upgradation. The month of April and May are packed with entrance examination, due to which a lot of exams clashes.
When BITS receives numerous request from the students for the change due to the clash in the entrance examination, it provides the facility. The candidates appearing for BITSAT 2018 can submit the request for the change in exam centre, exam date, or slot between May 10 to 13, 2018. Candidates will have to submit it online, from the official website.
The entrance examination for such candidates will be held on May 27, 2018. For these candidates, a new admit card of BITSAT 2018 will be released. To download the admit card, the candidates will just have to login by entering the application number, gender, date of birth, and e-mail id.
Candidates who will be appearing for the examination on any of the date or slot must carry the admit card. It is an important document of identity and without it, the permission to enter exam hall shall not be granted. Candidates will have to carry two copies of the admit card, in which they must have affixed their passport size photograph.
During the examination, the candidates will have to solve 150 questions, which will be of multiple choice type. These questions will be asked from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English subjects. The total number of questions on Physics and Chemistry section will be 40 each. From Mathematics, 45 questions will be asked. The total number of questions in the English section will be 25. Of which, 15 questions will be asked from English Proficiency and 10 will be from Logical Reasoning.
The exam will be of total 450 marks. Each question will carry 3 marks which will only be allocated if candidates will choose the correct answer option. As per the marking scheme of BITSAT, 1 mark will be deducted for every incorrect response. The total duration of the exam will be 3 hours.
BITSAT probably is the only entrance exam which has the provision for the extra questions. Students who will attempt all 150 questions before 3 hours will get 12 more questions to solve. However, these extra questions will only appear on the screen if the candidates would have attempted all the other questions. Good luck to all the candidates who will be appearing for BITSAT 2018.
