The School of Law, a constituent of the Bennett University proudly announces the launch of the BuLexConvo Series. As the University suggests – It is not just a conference, but a platform to bring debate and discussion about various emerging legal issues with socio-economic dimensions to the forefront of academic conversations. The term Lex connotes “law” and Convo connotes conversation. It is going to take place on February 15 – 16, 2019, at the School of Law, Bennett University, Greater Noida.
The idea behind using the term “Convo” is to give interested stakeholders a chance to think out of the box and offer unconventional but sustainable solutions. The first ever event under this series named BuLexConvo is a national conference titled – ‘Conundrum of Theory and Practice in Legal Education’.
The BuLexConvo series hopes to establish the School of Law at Bennett University as a trailblazing forum for future legal debates in India. The conference seeks to ask several disruptive questions which go against the grain. It will deliberate on the theory-practice chasm and its impact, lack of research quotient in law, technology disruption of attention span, lack of innovation in clinical legal education, innovation in continuing legal education and attendant issues.
The conference by Bennett University, Times of India Group, will address eminent legal academics, emerging young academics and Apex Court Lawyers. Those who have consented include Prof. Menon founder of the first law school in the country, Prof. Ranbir Singh Founder Vice Chancellor of NALSAR and NLU Delhi, Prof. Venkat Rao, Vice Chancellor of NLS Bangalore, Dr.Lalith Bhashin, President of Society of Indian Law Firms, Mr.Venkataramani, Senior Advocate of Supreme Court, Prof. Vijay Kumar, Vice Chancellor of NLU Bhopal, Prof. Faizan Mustafa Vice Chancellor of NALSAR, Prof. Rajkumar, Vice Chancellor of Jindal Global University, Mr. Ramachander Rao, Co-Chairman of BCI and other prominent academics and legal practitioners.
Legal academia cannot be limited to teaching, writing and the presentation of research. Rather, all these practices could be further enhanced by instilling a sense of inquiry and analysis. The conference also invites participates from academia and law firms to participate and interact with the invited resource persons.
