Indian Army is inviting eligible candidates of the state of Tripura to participate in a recruitment rally conducted by ARO Silchar for the post of Soldier. The rally is scheduled to be conducted in Agartala in the month of January 2021. Interested candidates can read the detailed advertisement available at the website joinindianarmy.nic.in and apply for mandatory registration from December 07, 2020, to January 05, 2021. Admit cards for the rally are to be sent through registered candidate’s email address from January 06 to 08, 2021.
As per the advertisement published in regard to this recruitment, candidates will be selected from the rally and subsequent selection tests to fill up vacancies for Soldier General Duty (All Arms), Soldier Technical, Soldier Clerk/Store Keeper Technical/All Arms, Soldier Tradesman (All Arms) 10th Pass and Soldier Tradesman (All Arms) 8th Pass.
All applicants must be within 17.5 to 23 years old except for the post of Soldier GD All Arms. The upper age limit for this post is 21 years. Candidates must be at least 160 cm tall, with a proportionate weight and 77 cm chest (5 cm expansion) in order to apply. For the post of Soldier Technical, candidates as tall as 157 cm can also apply. Candidates must have passed Class 10 with 45% marks in aggregate and 33% in each subject to apply for Soldier GD post.

For the post of Soldier Technical, candidates must have passed Class 12 in Science (PCM) with at least 50% marks in aggregate and 40% in each subject. Those who have passed Class 12 in any stream with 60% marks in aggregate and 50% in each subject can apply for Soldier Clerk and equivalent posts. Candidates who have passed Class 10 and/or Class 8 with 33% in each subject can apply for the respective Soldier Tradesman posts.
Candidates are required to report to the rally site as indicated on the admit card well in time along with specified documents including Admit Card, 20 copies of recent unattested passport-sized photographs, educational certificates and others. At the rally site, selection will be done through Physical Fitness Test including 1.6 km run, Pull-ups, 9 feet ditch and zig-zag balance. Following this, physical measurements will be taken and medical test will be conducted of qualifiers. Admit cards will be issued for the Common Written Exam to those who qualify the medical tests.
There is no application fee for this recruitment and selection is to be done through the rally, followed by the physical & medical tests and finally the written exam. Final selection is provisional till Rahdari Certificate is issued to the candidates and they are sent for further training.
