Online screening test comprised of two parts namely A – with questions on general awareness, mental ability, english comprehension, educational concepts and methodology, and part B – with subject specific questions. Each had questions worth 90 marks. TGT and PGT candidates had to attempt both parts. However PRT candidates only had to take the part A.
Based on the performance of candidates in the exam, they were awarded marks, and then the score was normalized to 100. Cut off is compared with the normalized scores.
Coming to the question of what next, candidates who have qualified will now need to apply for APS recruitment 2019-2020. There is no centralized process for the same. Each army public school, which are 137 in number, releases separate notifications for teacher recruitment throughout the year. This depends on who has how many vacancies at that time. Depending upon the states or regions that candidate wishes to teach in, they have to keep a lookout on the official websites and local newspapers about APS recruitment notifications and apply with the online test scores.
The result will remain valid throughout life, for those candidates who become a teacher in CBSE affiliated school for at least one year, within three years of getting the score card.
It is also relevant to note that even though CTET or TET conducted by centre or state government was not mandatory to appear in the APS exam, qualifying teacher eligibility tests will be required at the time of appointment as TGTs or PRTs.
Besides, such candidates who have qualified but are not satisfied with their scores can plan on appearing in the next online screening test. There is no official data at the moment on the number of test takers and pass percentage.
All over India there happen to be 8000 teaching positions in Army Public Schools. These positions become vacant and are filled from time to time. Thus, qualifying in the APS CSB results opens up opportunities upto 8000 vacancies.
