Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is all set to conduct the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2021 examination from December 16, 2021, to January 13, 2022, through the computer-based format. The central board recently concluded the registration process on the official website ctet.nic.in. Successfully registered candidates must now concern themselves with preparing for the national-level eligibility test. The competition is tough and only those candidates who clear the exam will be eligible to take up teaching jobs. Hence, if bagging the perfect teaching job is a candidate’s aspiration, clearing the CTET 2021 exam should be one’s prime focus.
CTET 2021 Paper Pattern
CTET 2021 examination shall comprise of two papers – Paper I and Paper II. The first paper is meant for those wishing to teach Classes 1 to 5 and will be held from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm. Paper II will be held from 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm for candidates who wish to teach Classes 6 to 8. Both papers will be held through the computer-based format. Both papers shall cover a total of 150 questions for a duration of 150 marks. The paper will be displayed in any of the TWO languages chosen by the candidate from the available options i.e., English, Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Kannada, Urdu, Telugu, Tibetan, etc.
To qualify the exam, candidates must score a minimum of 60% marks in the CTET 2021 examination. However, certain relaxations will be allowed in the case of reserved categories.
CTET 2021 Exam Syllabus
CTET 2021 Paper I will cover a total of five subjects, with each subject comprising 30 MCQs for a maximum of 30 marks. These subjects are – 1. Child Development and Pedagogy, 2. Language I, 3. Language II, 4. Mathematics and 5. Environmental Studies.
In the case of Paper II, the three compulsory subjects are – 1. Child Development and Pedagogy, 2. Language I and 3. Language II. All three subjects will cover 30 MCQs for a total of 30 marks. In the fourth section, candidates have a choice between appearing for Mathematics & Science and Social Science. This section will comprise 150 MCQs for a maximum of 150 marks.
