The State Board of Technical Education and Training, Andhra Pradesh has finalized the date for the 2021 Polytechnic Common Entrance Test, popularly known as AP POLYCET. The exam will be held on September 01, 2021 from 11 AM to 1 PM. This entrance test is for candidates who are willing to seek admission to the various diploma courses in engineering, non-engineering and technical fields. In this regard, the Andhra Pradesh Higher Education Council has issued a notification to receive POLYCET 2021 applications from July 26, 2021 onwards.
The last date for filling the application form is August 12, 2021. Candidates can submit their applications in both online and offline modes. For the online mode, candidates have to visit the official website polycetap.nic.in and click on the Online Application tab beside the Home button. Then they have to fill the required details, upload their photo and signature and the application fee to download the hall ticket.
Similarly, for the offline mode, candidates can download the application form from polycetap.nic.in by clicking on the ‘Application Form for APPOLYCET’ link under the Downloads category. Then they have to fill in the details like name, father’s name, address, etc. Candidates must affix the application form with an unstapled photo. Lastly, they have to submit the filled application form and make a cash payment of Rs 400 to the nearest helpline center. They must download the hall ticket as early as possible either from the official website or from the helpline center.
In terms of eligibility criteria, the candidate must belong to Andhra Pradesh and must have passed the SSC examination conducted by the state. Candidates belonging to other boards like CBSE, ICSE, NIOS, etc. must have passed all the subjects with a minimum of 35% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
The question paper for AP POLYCET comprises 120 MCQs with each question carrying 1 mark. Candidates will have to answer 50 questions from Mathematics, 40 questions from Physics and 30 questions from Chemistry. The minimum marks to be considered passed is 36, i.e. 30 per cent of 120 marks. The tentative date for the declaration of the AP POLYCET 2021 is September 11, 2021.
As of now, the arrangements for conducting the examination are underway as the Covid-19 rate has started to decline. This year, the Principals and HODs of 45 polytechnic colleges in the state will be acting as the coordinating officers for the examination. The various diploma courses offered by POLYCET are civil engineering, architectural assistantship, mechanical engineering, garment technology, etc. Candidates can also choose diploma vocational courses like automobile servicing, electrical appliances maintenance & repairing and mobile communication.
